THE CREATION

This subject is usually open to argumentation. Some religious congregations will claim that the planet earth was only created six thousand years ago, conforming to the length of time that humankind existed. That the universe and the earth were created by God in six days, in a 24-hour day period. If this is the logic flow that we are going to follow, then the earth then is only six thousand years old, since they had concluded that from the time of Adam and Eve, up to our present time, is only equivalent to six thousand years.

Some religious congregations will claim, that this is not so. That the earth is older than six thousand years. Now, which is which? To answer this question, we have to resort to the bible, and rely on some scientific findings, regarding our universe. To settle this issue, let me use science, logic, and bible verses to prove my point.

Firstly, let me use science and logic. According to science, the age of the planet earth is more than five billion years old, not six thousand years old. How did science came into this conclusion. In science, they have this method of determining the age of the fossils of animals, or rocks in the earth by means of carbon dating, and by means of the speed of light, and etc. By this carbon dating method, science had determined the existence of the dinosaurs which happened more than one hundred fifty million years ago. Science had subjected the fossils of the dinosaurs through the carbon dating method, and had proven that the dinosaurs had really existed one hundred fifty million years ago. Incidentally, through a catastrophic event, dinosaurs had became extinct. Science had determined that some rocks that could be found in the earth is almost five billion years old. As you would know, oil, diamond and gold, could only be formed in billions of years. When God created the earth, oil, diamond and gold were not yet in existence. But after billions of years, through natural process, oil, diamond and gold were developed. As some people would say, ‘it takes billions of years for a drop of oil to exist, but only a second to burn it.’ The same things goes with diamond and gold. If oil, diamond and gold could only be developed after billions of years, then it is just but logical that the planet earth is billions of years old. Some would claim that the human race is only six thousand years old, why then had science discovered that some Mayan establishments had been existing thirty five thousand years ago. These evidences seem confusing, but they are scientifically proven. Science is one of the best methods in determining the age of the existence of a certain object. To clarify it more clearly, let me resort to bible verses.

In GENESIS 1:1-5, it states = “In the beginning, God created the heavens and the earth. And the earth was without form, and void, and darkness was upon the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters. And God said, Let there be light; and there was light. And God saw the light, that it was good; and God divided the light from the darkness. And God called the light Day, and the darkness He called Night. And the evening and the morning were the first day.” = Now, is this the first day on earth? The answer is NO. This is the first day in the universe, not on earth. At this instance, the earth was without form and void. And the light that God created, is this the light upon the earth? The answer is NO. This light is
the light upon the universe. As you would note, our earth is just a part of a certain galaxy, and the universe is composed of lots of galaxies. The bible did not state that this first day is a 24-hour earthday. This day being mentioned here is a day in heaven, not a day on earth, as proven in DEUTERONOMY 11:21, which states = “That your days may be multiplied, and the days of your children, in the land which the Lord sware unto your fathers to give them, as the days of heaven upon the earth.” = And of course, we do not know how long is the day in heaven. The time being mentioned is indefinite. It might be millions or billions of years compared to our earthly days (as what I had explained about oil, diamond and gold). Considering the time in other planets as compared to our planet earth, let me give you an illustration:

243 earth days as ONE day to Venus

58.56 earth days as ONE day to Mercury

10 hours and 39 minutes as ONE day to Saturn

16 hours and 7 minutes as ONE day to Neptune

9 hours and 56 minutes as ONE day to Jupiter

17 hours and 14 minutes as ONE day to Uranus

24 hours and 39 minutes and 35 seconds as ONE day to Mars

As you would notice, a day in Venus is longer than a day on earth. In fact, it will take the earth 243 rotations or days before the planet Venus could complete one rotation or one day. The same things goes with the planet Mercury. It will take the earth 58.56 rotations or days before the planet Mercury could complete one rotation or one day. The same thing with the other planets. Therefore, a day on each planet is not the same with the other planets, especially our planet earth. The same thing as the days in heaven. It is possible that a day in heaven is very much longer than the days on earth. GENESIS 1: 6-13 discussed God’s creation regarding what He had done on the second day and on the third day. Still, these days are being referred to as the days in heaven.

In GENESIS 1:14-19, it states = “And God said, Let there be lights in the firmament of the heaven to divide the day from the night; and let them be for signs, and for seasons, and for days, and years: and let them be for lights in the firmament of the heaven to give light upon the earth; and it was so. And God made two great lights: the greater light to rule the day, and the lesser light to rule the night: and he made the stars also. And God set them in the firmament of the heaven to give light upon the earth. And to rule over the day and over the night, and to divide the light from the darkness: and God saw that it was good. And the evening and the morning were the fourth day.” = As you would noticed, this is the second time God stated that there be lights. The first time God mentioned that there be light was in GENESIS 1:3, in which God was referring to this light as the light in the universe. The second time God mentioned let there be lights, was when God was referring to these lights to be the source of light to shine upon the earth. The sun which was the greater light to rule the day, and the
moon, the lesser light, to rule the night. Now, take note of this: this is the first day on earth. The first day on earth which we are referring to as the 24-hour day started only during the fourth day of God’s creation. And so on with the fifth day of creation. And on the sixth day of creation, God created the beasts of the earth and other living creatures. God created man last at the end of the sixth day. And on the seventh day, God rested from all His works. It took God billions of years in human time to finish His creations, because when God created man and placed man in the garden of Eden, gold and precious stones and oil was already existing, that was after billions of years of the earth’s existence. To prove this, follow the next verse.

In GENESIS 2:10-15, it states = “And a river went out of Eden to water the garden; and from thence it was parted, and became into four heads. The name of the first is Pison: that is it which compasseth the whole land of Havilah, where there is gold; and the gold of that land is good; there is bdellium and the onyx stone. And the name of the second river is Gihon: the same is it that compasseth the whole land of Ethiopia. And the name of the third river is Hiddekel: that is it which goeth toward the east of Assyria. And the fourth river is Euphrates. And the Lord God took the man, and put him into the garden of Eden to dress it and to keep it.” = Gold and precious stones like diamonds were mentioned here, proving that for these to exist, the earth has to be in existence already for billions of years.

I hoped that with these verses, I had proven, that the planet earth and the heavens and the universe were not created in 6 24-hour earthdays. Rather, the creation took billions of years in human time, but in God’s time, it took God 6 working heavenly days.
