There are many amazing stories of how God used faithful men and women to spread the Pentecostal message. If you are in the Cleveland TN area, come here how the gospel traveled from the Pacific Ocean to the Caribbean Sea. Dr. Wilfredo Estrada-Adorno will present “Pentecost’s Island Journey: Azusa to Hawaii to Puerto Rico” as the Eleventh Annual Azusa Lecture. Dr. Estrada is director of the Center for Latino Studies and the author of two recent books on Pentecostalism. The lecture will be at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, October 25, at the North Cleveland Church of God Dixon Chapel.
Following Dr. Estrada’s presentation, the Dixon Research Center will present the Spirit of Azusa Award to Dr. Víctor Pagán. Dr. Pagán has served the Church of God as Pastor, Administrative Bishop, Field Director of South America, and Assistant Director of World Missions. He also served 16 years on the International Executive Council. Today, his VIDA Foundation provides student scholarships to schools around the world and life-giving nurture to ministerial couples in Latin America. The evening will conclude with a reception honoring Dr. Pagán and his wife, Ada.
The lecture and reception are free and open to the public.
