There seems to be either a lot of young believers and believers of a lot of denominations that have been taught denominational doctrine. Some of the questions it seems that are asked appear from those who are reading God’s word for the first time. So it’s important to read scripture in context. I see 3 different contexts that need to be in place. The context of a book the historical context and the whole of scripture context. I will give you the whole of scripture context. God created everything and his crowning jewel was man. He made man in his image and likeness. That’s God’s attributes like love reason will etc. God gave man everything to eat freely except for the tree of the knowledge of good and evil. Before you ask why did god do that knowing he would disobey the answer is quite simple. If a person does not have the option to choose or choose otherwise we would be robotic and it would render love meaningless. God’s purpose is to have a loving relationship with his creation. As we know Adam sinned and everything changed. The relationship was broken between god and man. Only God can fix the problem. Because of Adams sin every human being has inherited a disobedient nature. God promised Adam he would fix the problem. The rest of the ot is God’s repository of redemptive revelation with a temporary covenant to lead us to the one who would fix the problem his name is Jesus. He came fulfilled the requirements of the ot because no one else could. He died rose again and sent his spirit to guide into all truth. He will appear a second time to judge the living and the dead then eternal state of being. God did all this because of his incredible love for us. Make sure when you study this stuff fits into your doctrine if not dump it
