““Never hire an A student unless it is to take exams.”
— The Bed of Procrustes: Philosophical and Practical Aphorisms (Incerto Book 4) by Nassim Nicholas Taleb.
Don’t be afraid of the truth, for all truth is ultimately God’s truth (John 15:26).
But…do be very wary of those who present the truth, for the way they interpret it and apply it will depend upon their relationship with the Truth-giver. And the truth is that most of the people out there telling you “The truth” do not have a healthy relationship with the Truth-giver.
Bottom line, be careful of the wells of knowledge you drink from. Balance everything with a healthy dose of biblically inspired skepticism.
A practical application of this is the constant stream of talking heads who are always telling us what we are to think and do. Be very wary of them. Remember this, virtually everything you hear is tainted by sinful men/women with their own agenda. And their agenda is almost certainly in their best interest, not yours.
The ONE THING for today: Noise or news? Let the Holy Spirit guide you. (Hint: It’s almost all noise.)
