So many officials from around the world are saying we are so close to World War III. This means leaders attacking other nations with nuclear missiles. Many officials from around the world are saying it seems there is no chance of stopping this. The war in the Middle East is spreading, and it seems like it is getting worse every day. It seems to me that NATO and Russia are close to fighting each other on the battlefield.
America seems to be one step away from fighting North Korea and China. America is already at war with Iran’s proxies in the Middle East. It seems to me that Iran and America are already at war. It seems to me The United States of America is close to attacking the Texas National Guard at Eagles Pass. Texas National Guard has kicked out and will not let any Border Agents in Eagle’s Pass. The Texas National Guard is protecting TEXAS AND THE UNITED STATES of America from INVASION FROM THE SOUTH.
Don’t you think it is time to get serious about praying and fasting like we have never prayed or fasted in our lives? Please not only read this article but truly change your prayer life.
Text Mark 14:32-38
Mark 14:32 “And they came to a place which was named Gethsemane: and he saith to his disciples, Sit ye here, while I shall pray.”
Mark 14:33 “And he taketh with him Peter and James and John, and began to be sore amazed, and to be very heavy;”
Mark 14:34 “And saith unto them, My soul is exceeding sorrowful unto death: tarry ye here, and watch.”
Mark 14:35 “And he went forward a little, and fell on the ground, and prayed that, if it were possible, the hour might pass from him.”
Mark 14:36 “And he said, Abba, Father, all things are possible unto thee; take away this cup from me: nevertheless not what I will, but what thou wilt.”
Mark 14:37 “And he cometh, and findeth them sleeping, and saith unto Peter, Simon, sleepest thou? couldest not thou watch one hour?”
Mark 14:38 “Watch ye and pray, lest ye enter into temptation. The spirit truly is ready, but the flesh is weak.”
Verse 32. Jesus told the disciples “to sit here.” Nine of the disciples sat down and did not go with him to pray. If you were with Jesus, would you be in this group?
Verse 33. Jesus took Peter, James, and John with him to pray. Would you be in this group? I have always thought about this if I was living back then and was with Jesus, would I be a part of this group? I want to be. We can be a part of this group today.
In the transfiguration in Mark 9:2-10, Jesus took Peter, James, and John up on the mountain, and they experienced something that the other 9 disciples did not experience. We sometimes call Peter, James, and John the inner circle. I want to be a part of this group. Do you? When you have this close of a prayer life with the Lord, you can experience what Peter, James, and John experienced. Jesus will not come down and reveal himself to you. I am talking about this close of a personal relationship with Jesus.
Verse 35-36. Jesus, the Son of God, who is ALL POWERFUL, ALL PRESENT, ALL KNOWING, THE CREATOR OF ALL THINGS. If he needed to pray to the FATHER, HOW MUCH MORE DO WE NEED TO PRAY TO THE FATHER? Jesus was a man of prayer. It is time to focus on where we are at with our prayer life and fasting to the Father. How many more days do you think you have to work on this?
Verse 37. Jesus said, “Simon sleepest thou”? What would Jesus say to you? Keith Watts, are you sleeping? Keith Watts, are you sinning again and not confessing your sins to the Father? Keith Watts, I see you off track again and again and again. Keith Watts, you are focusing on yourself again and again and again. (That Hurt.) I’m being honest with you. We need to be honest with the Lord and ourselves. If I thought about it, I could put more on the list.
What would your answer be to Jesus? Jesus said, “Couldest not thou watch one hour”? Keith Watts, you could not pray for one hour? Keith Watts, you could not pray for 3,600 seconds? Keith Watts, are you only going to pray to me for only a few hours for the week? Keith Watts, are you only going to pray for the message for ten minutes before you deliver the message to my people? Keith Watts, are you only going to pray for your son’s salvation for only an hour for the week? (This hurt again.) Being honest.
Samuel prayed ALL NIGHT. 1 Samuel 15:11 “It repenteth me that I have set up Saul to be king: for he is turned back from following me, and hath not performed my commandments. And it grieved Samuel; and he cried unto the LORD all night.” Have you ever prayed all night to the Lord, OR have you ever prayed until you received the answer, even though it may take hours? You remember the hymn “Sweet Hour of Prayer.” We need to get back to singing it in our churches and in our alone time with the Lord. The sweetest time we will ever have on earth is the time we spend with the Lord.
Verse 38. Why is it so hard to become a man or woman of prayer? The flesh is weak. The cares of this world, daily responsibilities, building your kingdom, self, sinning and never getting right with your Father, your career, you LOVE THIS PRESENT WORLD, chasing after the pleasure of this life all the time (I’m talking about having fun all the time). For me, I tend to have too much fun and don’t know when to stop (Clean Fun). A CARNAL CHRISTIAN OR A LUKEWARM CHRISTIAN will never become a man or woman of prayer.
What do you do to become a man or woman of prayer?
- Feed your spirit by reading the Word of God every day.
- It is important to GROW IN THE LORD. Read what the Apostle Paul said:
1 Corinthians 3:1 “And I, brethren, could not speak unto you as unto spiritual, but as unto carnal, even as unto babes in Christ.”
1 Corinthians 3:2 “I have fed you with milk, and not with meat: for hitherto ye were not able to bear it, neither yet now are ye able.”
1 Corinthians 3:3 “For ye are yet carnal: for whereas there is among you envying, and strife, and divisions, are ye not carnal, and walk as men?”
1 Corinthians 2:14 “But the natural man receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God: for they are foolishness unto him: neither can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned.” No wonder most Christians never become a man or woman of prayer.
- Pray without ceasing. 1 Thessalonians 5:17, From the time you wake up until you fall asleep. An attitude of prayer but also praying from your mind to him through the day.
- BECOME A FRIEND OF GOD Isaiah 41:8 ” seed of Abraham MY FRIEND.” James 2:3 “and he was called the FRIEND OF GOD.” Are you God’s friend, Christian?
- Buy the book The Weapon of Prayer by E.M. Bounds. Look up Leonard Ravenhill. I read two of their books on prayer, and it changed my prayer life.
