When We Reach Out, God Reaches In (3 of 4)
At the recent 2018 General Assembly World Missions Conference, the topic of “When We Reach Out, God Reaches In,” could not have been more profound. Several pastors approached the subject by sharing testimonies of how this concept was experienced by them and their congregations. An obvious thread of truth runs through their testimonies.
Barry Clardy of Princeton Pike Church of God shared missions has never been an option at Princeton Pike. His church had a 9.5 million debt with another 8.5 million to raise for another building. It seemed an impossible situation. As a father, he was reminded of an experience that would make the impossible possible. His young son climbed upon him one night with his head on Barry’s chest. The child said, “Wow,” “Awesome!” It dawned on Barry that his son was hearing his heartbeat. World Missions is the heartbeat of God our Father, and we must put our “ear of vision” to that heartbeat. Through an experience in India, Pastor Barry heard God say, “Whatever you make happen for others, God will make happen for you.” Fourteen years later, the 17 million dollars was paid!
