This week I want to share with you a song that has become my prayer these past few weeks. God’s presence has and will always be the most important thing in my life. For I know without Him who I would be. We can’t do anything and don’t want to do anything without Him. Many times, throughout life we get caught up with the business of ministry and life, that sadly we can burnout or start just going through the motions. We love God and we are doing our best to serve Him, but we just go to Church to mark it off our to-do-list or we pray a few minutes because its apart of our routine. We have lost our passions and heart behind serving Him and don’t even realize it at times. So easily our focus can be turned from Him to the things He can do for us or the things we want from Him. As this new year started just like every year, I reevaluated my walk and relationship with God. Where have I grown, what have I learn through the battles and trails of the previous year? What areas have I neglected and need to make priority again? What is the Spirit asking of me? These are just a few questions I ask myself. I find it helps me to refocus.
If you love worship music like I do, then you know at the beginning of the year a lot of new songs and albums are released. I always look forward to hearing the sounds and words being released from heaven into the earth through some of my favorite worship leaders. But I wasn’t ready for this song “Nothing Else” by Cody Carnes. As I listened to this song tears rolled down my face and my heart began to cry out to God. I want Your presence more than anything, more then anything You can do. Father I just want You. His presence filled the room and the empty and dry places began to be filled with His Glory. This has become more then just a song for me, its truly become my hearts cry and I would like to share the lyrics with you today.
