Why doesn’t anyone profess the denomination of the apostles in the Bible?

What do you mean by denomination. If money Roman coin. If religious a Jewish sect proclaiming Jesus as Messiah.

There are no denominations in the Bible…just religions… Truth in Jesus Christ is known in the new testament as “The Way”.
“Christian’s….followers of Christ” were first mentioned in the book of Acts. -
Man makes denominations; Christ just said to follow Him.

It seems clear Christ set up a church organization with apostles and seventy and teachers and deacons ect to direct and help the saints.

Technically there were denominations in the Bible, but Paul called them divisions. Paul rebuked people for these divisions and told Christ is not divided.

Maybe with different wording I have asked the same thing in much of my Christian life. I came to an answer through prayer and study in what could be consider “pre-denominational” partly through reading the early church fathers.

When you get saved you follow Christ he is the one that died on the cross for our sins that is so we Are now disciples . The word Christian was a derogatory term given to the followers of Christ by unbelievers . The world Christian is mentioned only three times in the Bible

Because Jesus and the apostles reject the doctrine of the Trinity that majority of “Christians” uphold today.

They didn’t have a denomination yet. It was around 300 when people started calling them “Christians”

The concept of denominations are made up by man… or devition caused by evil if u get to the root to it. We are called to be followers of Christ, being one body in Him.

We do. It’s called the Catholic Church. Except we aren’t a denomination. The one and only Church established by Christ and founded by the Apostles.

Paul is the apostle to the gentiles sent directly by Christ Himself to us. Romans through Philemon are for our instructions.

In the NT there were only city churches or areas. The Church of Ephesus. The Church of Smyrna. The Church of Galatia. All the Christians a city or region were the Church of the Thessalonians or the name of that area. There were many homes or places of meeting such as on a river bank or hall, often in secret because of persecution. Denominations aren’t ideal but better than one church under a pope. I myself was in Rome many years ago and saw the pope holding out his hand for people to kiss it and people were falling at his feet in worship, something which the Apostle Peter refused (Acts 10:26). It was an abomination. Unbecoming man worship. See Also Rev. 19:10. Denominations are good to police each other according to Mark Twain! But one day we may go back to the New Testament home meetings with a vision to reach our cities and regions and glorify God through Jesus Christ in His Spirit. Till then, I just love being with God’s people in a church or wherever!

Jesus only left a church of about 120 people with Apostoles being the pionears He instrcted it to go all over the world and give birth to it’s own through teaching and baptizing in the name of father,son and holly spirit.It is after this that evil men began to form denominatios for the benefit of their own belly.so Jesus began a church but men made denomitions.

I think every denomination wants to believe that their denomination *is* the denomination of the Apostles.

There are three groups that would see the profess the faith of the apostles. Due to the nature of apostolic succession those three would be the Catholic, Coptic and eastern orthodox. Maybe you could call them Pre-denominational
