Yes. An example would be an individual who was baptized as an infant might feel led to be baptized again as a believing adult. Wisdom and grace to us all.

I think you can be baptised as many times as you like. It is a public declaration of your new life as a follower of Christ. More importantly, it is a declaration into the spirit world of your new life with Christ. There are times when a Christian’s turn their back on God or walk away and then return; this is a perfectly good reason to be re-baptised. Also, different religions such as Catholicism baptise children as babies which is not the child’s choice. When the child is old enough or when they become an adult and can make this decision for themselves, being baptised again is definitely suitable.

Yes -
I think many times people can declare they are saved and be baptized but not actually have salvation or the Spirit, and evidence of this would be their life looks the same before and after this “salvation” experience. In that case, if later in life they realize they were not actually saved or they feel led to recommit their life to Jesus, being baptized again would not be a problem. Baptism is just symbolic of the decision made in their heart; it’s a public statement of faith. There isn’t anything wrong with being baptized more than once, but it isn’t necessary either. It all depends on the situation.

I don’t think it’s a problem, because I was baptized when I was a baby. But when I got older I got baptized again.

Yes because it may happen that you were baptized without understanding the gospel or you may have been baptized cause you saw others doing then the second time you understand the gospel and you are ready to give your life to Christ fully also u have understood the false and true repentance

When I thought I was a Christian I was “baptized” but really I was just dunked underwater because I hadn’t been saved at that point in my life.

If one had sprinkling of water than full body immersion baptism can be done. If it’s another full body baptism then it doesn’t make sense to have another one. It’s supposed to be a memorable event not a ritual.
As a public expression of faith, making it memorable with photos videos and to experience what the dying of oneself is really like when a person is under water and can’t breath.
But theologically it doesn’t make a difference because one is saved by faith in Christ Jesus.

All people who answer that rebaptism is allowed , can they give any example from the bible ? Except there daily life experience .. BC you r talking about denominations .This is a very serious question Baptism is not a fun to take this again and again this is once and only in a life time there is no need to take it again ..

Yeah. They can. They can get “re-Bapized” ten thousand times if need be…but just the one (full submersion) Baptism does the trick. ?

It depends on the denomination. The majority and protestants and the Catholic church believe in only one baptism. If you were baptized, even as an infant, even if someone made the decision for your, you can not be baptized again. You can definitely renew your baptismal vows as often as you want. Now, there are certain denominations that do not believe in infant baptism. You have to make that choice fully aware.

Yes I believe that you can be baptized more than once. A few years ago I was baptized a latter day saint ( Mormon). Did not last more than a few months. A little over 3 years ago I became a born again Christian and my pastor baptized me within a few months. I know that some religions call them selves Christians but are not true Christians.

Sure. IF you feel you have went back to life of sin and have come back to God and want to be baptized again. Do it! In a sense it is saying to God, I am back and I want to honor you in baptism.

Real baptism includes repentance. Repentance is admitting ones sins and turning away from them. Admit it and quit it. To be dunked in water without in that mode of operation and understanding to me is not true baptism. Thoughts

You can be baptised as a baby and be baptised for real as an adult, multiple times as an adult. -
I have done this baptized unbeknownst to me as a child in the Catholic Cult. then twice more Baptist and Pentecostal thinking that none of them took because I was still dumb as a rock when it came to being a faithful follower of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Now I know a little something and neither trust in myself nor my understanding I believe I would consider doing it again though I don’t think it necessary. I am all in and cannot be dragged out this I say with all confidence not in myself but in the rock and fortress of my salvation.

Baptism should follow conversion. The only reason I can see for rebaptism is if the individual was not a believer at the time of baptism and they then became a believer and got “rebaptised”

Definitely there’s usually two specific occasions for this but basically the same cause.
1. The baptism wasn’t that of the Bible (person didn’t know the significance of baptism, it was just a religious ceremony)
2. There was no repentance when the person got baptized. They understood the meaning and purpose of baptism, but there was no rebirth/repentance.Cause of rebaptism: they didn’t become disciples before being baptized the first time.

Yeah. I was baptized at 13 cuz you’re supposed to be baptized growing up in a Christian house. and i will be again soon because after I was actually saved.

Once you are baptized in the name of the father son and Holy Spirit a second baptism is not necessary. No matter the age or reasoning the first is still valid. Nothing wrong with a second, just not necessary.

I would make the distinction between dunking, baptism and re-dedication. Once you are baptized into the life of Christ his work is fully complete.

Sure, nothing wrong with that. Maybe they were a child when they first did it or perhaps had weak faith.
In either case, water baptism does not save.

I was rebaptised at Garywood Assemply of God by pastor John Loper in the name of Father Son and Holy Spirit after I had been baptized as a kid by Don Gilham of the Prescott Holiness church. The elders at Graywood thought I did the right thing.

If you belong to Church of England they only believe you need to be baptised once. Therefore they will only baptise you once. However, my vicar believed in baptism and got around it by saying it was a reaffirmation of my baptism vows my parents took for me. I also baptised myself in the River Jordan on my first pilgrimage a year ago and that was an incredibly spiritual/ personal experience.

To be absolutely covered, you need to be sprinkled as a baby, get poured on, then one time backwards, then three times backwards and then three times straight down. Of course I may have missed one or two.

Hello. Thank. I appreciate your commnts.. i just want to know from your side. What do think and what do you believed in Baptism.. Baptism is holy moment an act of faith of person, or to those who believed in in infant baptism is the act of faith of his or her mother/father of a baby. And to sanctify them to the Lord.
And lastly. I am Reform Presbyterian just like my PP itself. We believed in in infant baptism..

Christian Baptism in Water is not just a ritual or a public declaration of one’s faith in Jesus Christ, but it is a deliberate Act of the believer to SURRENDER his/her life to Jesus Christ. Rom. 6:3 /Gal.3:27. Actually it is in this Baptism a believer JOINS Jesus Christ . Rom.6:3 / Gal.3:27 & 1 Pet.3:20-21.
So if a person received a Ritual baptism ( infant baptism or John’s baptism) he/she should go for a SECOND Baptism to surrender his life to Jesus and it should be done invoking Father, Son & Holy Spirit. Acts.19:1-6.

Where the question of how many times you have to be baptized arises, is if you shift between denominations the have different views on baptism. For example, in a Baptist church, if a person from a background that either Spring holes or requires baptism for salvation comes in church, and decides to join Chama they would have to go through immersion baptism after they had shown that they have truly believe upon Christ. The same would be true coming fro church that requires baptism as a symbol of face going to a church that requires baptism for salvation. The answer truly depends upon did a nomination as a church, this has been a divisive issue in churches for the past 600 years.

I will only recommend another Baptism if the first was by sprinkling in which case the second must be by immersion which I believe the Bible teaches.

I have a son with mental illnes who at times walks away from following God but loves the heart. If he wants and feels the need to be rebaptized I will not dissuade him because he feels it is necessary for his declaration to God
