What do you think is the best 1 volume or 2 volume bible commentary?
I havent had the chance to read them yet, but Dennis Prager’s “Rational Bible” is on my list.

John MacArthur Bible Commentary
Catechism of the Catholic Church. Half the footnotes or more are biblical references. Also one can get a lot of insight at least on the OT by inter-testemental Mishnas.
New Bible Commentary, IVP.
Matthew Henry’s Commentary.
Just found out that you can get The Complete Biblical Library (for the New Testament) in 2 volumes. It used to be 16.
2 vol. Bible Knowledge Commentary
the very best commentary on the Bible is the Bible itself. There are several that are okay but at the end of the day they’re still written by man
I l8ke Mathew Henry Commentary of the Whole Bible
Forget Courson—- his 2 violume set not worth the psper it’s printed on. I keep going back to Henrys. Its huge and heavy but I just really have found ot worth it
