A person who will not believe in freewill must accept the doctrine of limited atonement. Am I right?

God gave man free will, there is no limited atonement, John 3:16, whosoever believe in Jesus Christ should not perish but have everlasting life. its just man chose death instead of life. Salvation is for all, but not irresistible, that man chose to fall because of their free will.

Yes. We are all totally depraved before we come to Christ because of Adam’s sin which is called original sin. Do you watch football? When the offensive lineman moves the refs don’t just move him back five yards. They move the whole team back five yards. In the same way we were all on Adam’s team so when he messed up we all were penalized. So people say thaty not fair. When we place our faith in Jesus the second Adam, He reverses this process. So even though we don’t live a perfect live God takes our belief and takes Jesus’ righteousness and put it in our account and plus He paid the debt from sin we owed to God. In addition the Bible say while we were yet sinners, another word for totally depraved, Christ died for us.

All of mankind is total depraved, and those who accept Jesus respond to the gospel out of their free will, so the answer is yes.

No one can come to me unless the Father who sent me, draws him…and again, no one can come to me unless the father draws him. It seems pretty clear to me. there is no such thing as free will. We think we have it, but we really don’t. It is the arrogant musing of a man centered belief that we control our destiny’s. A man’s heart plans his course, but the Lord directs his steps.

The gospel is God’s power unto salvation. So when the gospel is preached the Holy Spirit moves and touches the heart and mind of the listener. Then the person takes his Free Will and respond to God’s initiation to the heart and mind through the gospel…

Good question. “Total depravity” is a Calvinist doctrine. We must always keep in mind as believers in Jesus Christ the Word (John 1:1,14…Hebrews 4:12) of the Bible comes first. I have seen to many times Calvinist will narrow the scope to just the Calvinist doctrine and ignore or unaware of God’s complete truth in the Bible. Does “Total Depravity” really mean “Total” when it comes to free will of belief (John 3:16, 6:35, 47; 11:26.,etc)? We are not forced robots to respond by belief to God’s gospel (Then what is the purpose of two places=free will of Heaven and Hell?). I have seen two types of discussion on “Total Depravity”.
1) There is nothing we can do to save ourselves from sin because of what Christ had done for us on the cross.
The real question is…can we not come forward to accept (belief) Jesus Christ as our Lord to be saved or does “Total? Depravity” keep us from having free will to come forward?
2) Fall of man caused God to regenerate us as the elect before belief.
The real question is…is regeneration before belief or after? Does regeneration come before our free will of belief or does God force us to come forward like robots without our free will because we have been regenerated?
The Bible is clear…humans has free will to respond before the fall of humans (Genesis 2:16-17). We have to ask ourselves are we diligent in studying all of God’s scriptures for God’s complete truth in the Bible (2 Timothy 2:15). Our world is already saturated with different thoughts on the Bible, but our authority comes from the Bible first. The gospel was in the very beginning (John 1:1) and the Word became flesh (John 1:14). God in the beginning spoke His Words (gospel) in the garden to warn Adam and Eve of knowledge of good and evil just like our Bible today to have free will to choose every tree of the garden (Bible) or choose the tree of knowledge good and evil (world). You have free will to accept the free gift or not (Ephesians 2:8-9). From the beginning of time and now nothing has changed free will of humans.

In our dead state, the Bible declares that we are at enmity with God, in our depraved state we hate God and the things of God we are absolutely dead or cut off from God. He has to give life for us to even want to have anything to do with Him. Rev. 3, 19 starts with those whom I love which leads one to think there are those He doesn’t Love and those He is not giving the chance to open the door.

I think it is obvious that no matter how depraved we are we still can freely choose to turn to God for salvation.Depravity doesn’t mean we can’t choose

Our free will is enslaved to sin. Our “free will” is entact in bondage. People make choices every day. U can choose to walk in the store n buy pepsi or but coke if u want. We make decisions every day within our bondage. Can we make a decision on our own to come to God or get us out of being spiritually dead?? NO. Salvation is a work of GOD NOT man. God has to intervene in order for you to come to Christ. No man comes to Christ unless the Father draws them. It is Gods will that anyone comes to Christ not our own. This is described numerous times in the book of John and through out scripture.

God created a perfect world and universe in six literal 24 hour days and called it very good after each day. (Genesis 1) Genesis 2 gives us more detail on day six of creation, including making man in His Image. Adam and Eve had a perfect world to live in and perfect fellowship with God. Sin/ death/ evil entered the world when Adam and Eve fell and all of creation suffered for it. (Genesis 3) But God began the promise of redemption there amidst the curse, which had its ultimate fulfillment in Jesus Christ. Satan is defeted by Jesus death and resurrection, just as we are saved by it and promised eternal life. Satan has not received his punishment yet but he will (Revelation 19:20-20:15) just as we have not yet received our glorified, new bodies (1 Corinthians 15).

Contradiction. The Word of God precedes all things. Men respond by will. Free will would suggest that God has not first spoken. As if one is able to choose God apart from His Word. Is that even possible? How, then, would faith come by hearing? Hmmm…

Your starting with a wrong assumption, and a contradiction. If man is totally depraved, meaning every part of our being is corrupted by the effects of sin (this does not mean that we are as corrupt as we can possibly be), then our will is not free but under the bondage of sin. And that is the Gospel, that we have no ability to choose God and that God miraculously regenerates us even before we “choose him”, so that we then have the ability to respond in faith.

I don’t hold to total depravity. However, in Arminian theology prevenient grace (or “enabling grace”) does reach through total depravity to enable people to respond to the salvation offered by God in Jesus Christ.

dead people don’t respond to anything. They’re dead. Those in Christ were dead, and then made alive by the Spirit. After they are quickened in their minds by Gods sovereign act of quickening, they can now respond to his Word towards faith. People really have a hard time with the idea that we have nothing to do with our salvation. But if we did how is it then grace? It is works based if we do something to get to God. The whole point of Christianity is that man cannot of himself, do anything pleasing to God, nor can he reach him apart from the intervention of God, which he did in Christ Yeshua.
