How would you respond to someone who just seems to…

How would you respond to someone who just seems to want to mock. In recent times I have seen because of my profile picture, people in completely unrelated topics, such as food, or something else, immediately throwing out derogatory statements about Jesus or religion. How would you engage?

Kindness and empathy. It’s a common cliche but there’s truth to it. Hurt people…Hurt people. We are to give a reasonable defense/response to the hope we have in Christ Jesus.

You can expect this from the world-class it reminds us of how blind they are, hopefully don’t hate them, but have mercy and love for them

You are free to respond however you want.
If you’re going to advertise your religion on your profile picture like that, that’s fine, it is an exercise of your free speech. You’re going to have to expect some backlash.
Christians also respond in a similar manner to non-believers.
Among other things, I have been called the daughter of Satan and told I should be gangraped so I Shall Scream out the name of God.

It’s difficult, but it’s good where possible to try and move the discussion away from mocking and into rational and respectful conversation.

We had this earlier today with someone who joined the group and immediately started mocking in the first post he shared to the group. It’s very tempting when this happens to immediately go on the defensive … but where possible the best defense is to simply ask questions.

Ask the person why they believe what they do, and try to work through that. If they aren’t willing to do so feel absolutely free to move on. If this is on social media and all else fails, block them.

Just remember that this world is condition to associate symbols, brand or flag to represent something good or bad. Often we see MAGA hat, Rainbow Flag, Country Flag, upside down symbol, Swastika and other symbols flash on mainstream media. If you keep showing those symbols, most often user get annoyed and started to get offended. It is how authoritative source loves to manipulate and condition other to think this way. Saddest part is this force people to reject the other point of view and have their mind already made up by lies.

How I would approach it is pray to that person. Don’t take offense because mockers and scoffers are on the rise during the last day. Remember Christ is returning. Focus on that and don’t let the world holding you back.

Try not to trade evil for evil. It’s hard. We’re of two different worlds and this sort of thing is to be expected. If it gets your down, read John 15.

I agree with Paul that if Christ is not raised, we are to be pitied, not hated. I hate secularism, but I pity secularists. But like I said, it’s hard. God bless

  7. Carlos Sotelo says:

Proverbs 17:5 “Whoever mocks the poor insults his Maker; he who is glad at calamity will not go unpunished” .. Just remember that their mocking and ridicule only validates scripture, not disprove it.

  8. Glenn Buchanan says:

Just State what you believe and diminish the criticism.. scripture says it will be like heaping hot coals of fire on their heads

  9. Jefferson D. Thatcher says:

    Bless them.

I would not bother to “engage”

jesus said brush off of your feet . it would be more tolerable for sodam and gomarah than them.

  13. Rodney Durrett says:

2 Peter 3:3-4 King James Version (KJV)

3 Knowing this first, that there shall come in the last days scoffers, walking after their own lusts,

4 And saying, Where is the promise of his coming? for since the fathers fell asleep, all things continue as they were from the beginning of the creation.

I would be encouraged! The truth and Jesus is offensive to the world. Be encouraged and stand stronger!

  15. Ozzy Alejo says:

John 15:18-25 King James Version (KJV)
18 If the world hate you, ye know that it hated me before it hated you.

19 If ye were of the world, the world would love his own: but because ye are not of the world, but I have chosen you out of the world, therefore the world hateth you.

20 Remember the word that I said unto you, The servant is not greater than his lord. If they have persecuted me, they will also persecute you; if they have kept my saying, they will keep yours also.

21 But all these things will they do unto you for my name’s sake, because they know not him that sent me.

22 If I had not come and spoken unto them, they had not had sin: but now they have no cloak for their sin.

23 He that hateth me hateth my Father also.

24 If I had not done among them the works which none other man did, they had not had sin: but now have they both seen and hated both me and my Father.

25 But this cometh to pass, that the word might be fulfilled that is written in their law, They hated me without a cause.
