I often hear people ask, “What happens to people who…

I often hear people ask, “What happens to people who never hear the gospel of Jesus; do they go to Hell?” My response to that is Matthew 24:14. In short, it says that the gospel will be preached in all nations before the end of the world comes. Also, Roman’s 1, beginning in verse 18 talks about how all people know deep down inside there is a God, even if they choose to deny it. We have to remember that God is a just God. As a just God, he does not punish people for things they dont deserve. Satan is working in two ways, as far as I can see. The number 1 way is to try to convince people God isnt real. The number 2 way is to cause believers to question God’s character. People who see God as mean and evil will fight against him and join the opposing side.

    Matthew 24:14 is Eschatological. It is speaking of the completion. Usually when a person asks the question you are referring to they are asking about those already dead who never heard it preached.

    I often think of the Tower of Babel. Every one at that time knew God since humanity was only three generations out from the Flood. Once they were scattered and of a different language, they still had the story of God. Down through the millenia since, they were led astray and sometimes willfully abandoned God. Hence the passage in Romans stating the evidence of the Creator is stamped on their conscience so they are found without excuse.

    When christ went to hell when Jesus died on the cross, He took the keys from Satan and emptied out hell. From than on, every one will begin to hear the Gospel, not any Gospel but the Gospel of the kingdom.

    And this gospel of the kingdom will be preached in the whole world as a testimony to all nations, and then the end will come.

    That’s why we must preach the gospel to non-believers to bring up the people chosen by God.
    if people reject the gospel it also means rejecting salvation.

    Those who *believe* will be saved… like John 3 says… but it never says anything about those who don’t *know*
    I think Paul meant that people know there’s *a* God out there – whether it’s Karma or the universe or another religion or Trinity – obviously some are harder to convince than others.
    I’m still new at this!!! ?‍♀️

    I have thought about this same question before and then I heard it explained this way and it really made me stop and think. Wouldn’t we as Christians really be doing these people a disservice by sharing the gospel with them if they would go to heaven if they didn’t know anyway. So if we as Christians and missionaries didn’t tell them about Jesus because they don’t know they go to heaven, but if we tell them and they reject the gospel they go to hell. Wouldn’t they be better off not knowing. Doesn’t that contradict what we are suppose to be doing as Christians. Aren’t we commanded to preach to the ends of the earth, to all nations. None of us deserves Heaven, we all deserve Hell but we are saved by Grace from God. Grace is receiving something that you don’t deserve. It is by His mercy and love for you and for me that we were born somewhere that had Christians. At some time in our lives someone shared the gospel with us. Now it’s our job to share it with others.

    Peter taught Those who did not have a chance to learn of Christ will have the gospel preached to them in the spirit world before their resurrection. This gives all of God’s children a fair chance to accept Jesus and His gospel.

    For Christ also hath once suffered for sins, the just for the unjust, that he might bring us to God, being put to death in the flesh, but quickened by the Spirit:
    “By which also he went and preached unto the spirits in prison;
    “Which sometime were disobedient, when once the longsuffering of God waited in the days of Noah, while the ark was a preparing, wherein few, that is, eight souls were saved by water.” (1 Peter 3:18–20.)
    “For for this cause was the gospel preached also to them that are dead, that they might be judged according to men in the flesh, but live according to God in the spirit.” (1 Peter 4:6.)

    We see the mobilization of the Christian faith in the east blowing up! The west and Europe for the most part are familiar with Christ. We are seeing that many eastern countries like the Middle East and even Asia starting small christian movements. We see many missions happening in smaller areas of Africa were they are preaching the gospel, so we are on the move to spreading the Gospel around the world.
