Consult the scriptures. Theres an answer in the bible and it is very clear

  2. Daniel Ho says:

The scripture is clear: Divorce is not on the table for christians. Anyone who divorce and remarry someone is committing the act of adultery. The Scriptures may have examples that Moses gave concession but it does not mean God approves of it. Furthermore, it boils down to this: If you know what is RIGHT and you don’t do it, or (you know what is WRONG, and you still do it), is SIN.

  3. Dean Alley says:

    The short answer.

The husband will be held accountable to God for the marriage. Other than death, adulterous act, you may not take another.

  4. Okoroma Nathan says:

The scripture calls it a sin and whatever is spoken out of the scripture doesn’t need an opinion to show its clarity. Same way we don’t oppose the Doctors during surgeries same way we shouldn’t question the creator of the creations.

  5. Justin Mirza says:

What God had united, men to not separate (Jesus)

  6. Donte Morris says:

Well…I’m not going to tell someone to stay with another person possessed with demons… and the individual possessed love the interaction with wickedness… joker you’re crazy… they just can’t married again… but ultimately it’s up to them

  8. Dale Johnson says:

    __it happens!

  9. Randy Steinke says:

The two are no longer two but one flesh. What God has joined let not man put asunder.
The Church did not allow divorce and remarriage for eons until just recently and now everyone is doing it. The stats are grievous.

  10. Korina Rose Noble says:

It depends on what the reason for divorce is. Is it biblically sound? Or are you getting divorced because “marriage is hard”?

  11. Pearl Doxsey says:

If you seek divine guidance; Jesus made God’s direction plain.
Matt.19: “3 The Pharisees also came to Him, testing Him, and saying to Him, “Is it lawful for a man to divorce his wife for just any reason?”

4 And He answered and said to them, “Have you not read that He who made them at the beginning ‘made them male and female,’ 5 and said, ‘For this reason a man shall leave his father and mother and be joined to his wife, and the two shall become one flesh’? 6 So then, they are no longer two but one flesh. Therefore what God has joined together, let not man separate.”

7 They said to Him, “Why then did Moses command to give a certificate of divorce, and to put her away?”

8 He said to them, “Moses, because of the hardness of your hearts, permitted you to divorce your wives, but from the beginning it was not so. 9 And I say to you, whoever divorces his wife, except for sexual immorality, and marries another, commits adultery; and whoever marries her who is divorced commits adultery.”

So if our partner becomes one flesh with someone else, our bond with them is broken. We are free to either forgive and remain, or to not forgive… in which case we are free to divorce and re-marry.
If the marriage “one-flesh” bond is still intact,
we are not free to divorce and re-marry. If we divorce, we leave our partner alone, and make our partner a candidate for adultery, should they seek a partner to replace us.

At 1Cor.7:1-16, there is more advice about Christian marriage. It offers the provision of separation, but is consistent with the words of Jesus.

  12. Lawrence Gough says:

It’s OK for the secular world but not the Christian world

  13. Ivan Johnson says:

marriage is 2 becoming one, and working together. when that stops it isn’t a marriage anymore..if it’s broken get out of it and move on..it’s probably gonna be painful for the rest of your life but destroying yourself by staying in a failed marriage ain’t gonna help..just be sure you ain’t the problem

  14. Rudy Jenkins says:

  18. Joseph Mann says:

“And Pharisees came up to him [Jesus] and tested him by asking, “Is it lawful to divorce one’s wife for any cause?” He answered, “Have you not read that he who created them from the beginning made them male and female, and said, ‘Therefore a man shall leave his father and his mother and hold fast to his wife, and the two shall become one flesh’? So they are no longer two but one flesh. What therefore God has joined together, let not man separate.” They said to him, “Why then did Moses command one to give a certificate of divorce and to send her away?” He said to them, “Because of your hardness of heart Moses allowed you to divorce your wives, but from the beginning it was not so. And I say to you: whoever divorces his wife, except for sexual immorality, and marries another, commits adultery.””
    ‭‭Matthew‬ ‭19:3-9‬

No law says one must enter, maintain, and or remarry upon death or divorce.

(Not popular sentiment in liberal USA but … it’s just wrong, hurts families & tears apart moral fabric of society)

  36. C Jay Cox says:

Divorce is a travesty and abomination. GOD hates divorce. Malachi 2:16.

Only in the case of adultery .

  39. Mark Wilson says:

If a person gives their life to Jesus and becomes “born again”, their past does not exist anymore. Condemnation always looks to the past. I grew up an atheist and I gave my life to Jesus when I was in my late 20’s. What happened before that does not exist anymore to God. .I was married back in my BC days (before Christ). We were divorced in 1990. After accepting Jesus in 1991, I was married again in a Christian Church. 3 years later, my wife abandoned our marriage and abandoned Christ. I went to my pastors and asked for permission to divorce her after she had moved in with another guy. We were divorced in 1995. I said “God, if you ever want me to be married again, she will come and sit down beside me in Church”. In 1999, a lady was visiting my Church and sat down beside me. We were married a few months later. My best friend and partner. We just celebrated our 20 year anniversary with two teenage daughters. I have been a Church elder, teacher, and men’s ministry leader. My daily prayer is to walk in His will.
    Romans 8:1-2 (KJV)
There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit. For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus hath made me free from the law of sin and death.

  40. Victoria Petersen says:

God hates divorce. However there are verses allowing it when there is unfaithfulness. Also in exodus the woman was allowed to leave the marriage if the husband took another wife and neglected her. I dont think you will go to hell if you remarry. If you are saved you are saved by your faith not by how many bible rules you can keep. Life happens! My husband was unfaithful. I divorced him. I remarried.

  41. Victoria Petersen says:
  42. Miguelito Lumancas says:

Divorce was allowed because of the stubborness of the heart of the people of esrael.. But if we read in Matthew 19:3 continue,.. Then we will find the answer of our Lord.

Let’s just say, you can blame a widow/er for remarriage.

  44. Joseph Benhardt says:

    No.

  45. Michael Luna says:

I agree divorce is sin, a sin God hates. I guess the question I have is, if you commit that particular sin, are you branded for life? Or if you repent, is your sin forgiven, slate wiped clean and your sins remembered no more? (Ps.103:12, Heb.10;17). And if you are remarried? Is the solution another divorce, to prevent further adultery?

  46. Noah Mukwato says:

    Malachi 2:14-16

  47. Somes Jm says:

Matt 5:27-28 You shall not commit adultery…
But I say to you that everyone (men and women, young and old single, married) who looks at woman (also man) with lust HAS ALREADY COMMITTED ADULTERY with her/his heart …
It is not only those who remarry who cpmitted adultery

  48. Sheila Anne says:

Your marriage is between you and God. Search ALL of the scriptures. Learn exactly what God is saying to you. Talk to him. He is the only one who was in your marriage and knows all about it.

  49. Steve McCormick says:

Practically speaking, you can’t have one without the other. Unless, of course, the spouse is no longer living.

  50. William Clark says:

I believe you’re speaking of marriage in this life as opposed to what some might assume to be marriage in the next life. Divorce can happen for reasons and scenarios that are entirely too numerous to list. Would I be correct to assume that you’re talking about divorce and marriage for believers? If this is the case, the only legitimate reason for divorce is for marital unfaithfulness, BUT I also know that the bible talks about being “unequally yoked”, but I don’t think that’s a justifiable reason for divorce even though it can seriously drain the life out of a marriage, without a doubt. I DO believe that divorce and remarriage (AFTER you’re saved) can and does disqualify someone from the ministry, but if you’re married and divorced and remarried and THEN gave saved, I’m not sure if that disqualifies anyone from ministry, which I know is actually outside the scope of the OP. I’m definitely disqualified from the ministry, but have held the billets of “law enforcement chaplain” for a short time since marriage and divorce were not qualifying factors for the assignment, though they SHOULD have been IMHO. God still uses me to articular my faith and testimony in ways that some others respond with “no one has ever explained it like that” OR “most people don’t ask questions like that and I’ve wondered the same thing”. Either way, this (divorce and remarriage) does NOT mean that God can’t or won’t still use you, but you’ve limited yourself by your own choices, if that makes sense. JMHO.
