“It is a massive abdication of scholarship that so many Christians do academic work with so little reference to God. If all the universe and everything in it exist by the design of an infinite, personal God to make his manifold glory known and loved, then to treat any subject without reference to God’s glory is not scholarship, but insurrection.”
— The Pleasures of God: Meditations on God’s Delight in Being God by John Piper
There is a vast difference between Mere Christianity and Missing Christianity.
It seems to me that I hear the name of Jesus Christ profanely coming out of the mouths of pagans far more than I hear it reverantly coming out of the mouths of supposed devoted followers of Jesus Christ.
Letting your light shine includes speaking up.
You do not have to be obnoxious and rude, but it should be obvious where your loyalties lie.
The ONE THING for today: To not speak up for Jesus Christ is high treason against the Lord of Heaven & Earth.
“For whoever is ashamed of me and of my words in this adulterous and sinful generation, of him will the Son of Man also be ashamed when he comes in the glory of his Father with the holy angels.”
