There is no other greater Love and Mercy than this;…

There is no other greater Love and Mercy than this; that the One and Only Eternal Creator and Immortal God came to this world in the Form and Likeness of a Mortal Man-Jesus to redeem, deliver and save all the mortal humans from death, hell and second death by His Substitutional and Sacrificial death and Victorious Resurrection from the dead Unbehalf of all mortal humans

Now God is giving out freely is gift of Eternal Life of Immortality to as many that believes and confesses Jesus Christ as their Lord and Saviour.

It is written in the Holy Bible.
Romans 6:23 For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.

1 John 5:13, 20 These things have I written unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God; that ye may know that ye have eternal life, and that ye may believe on the name of the Son of God.
And we know that the Son of God is come, and hath given us an understanding, that we may know him that is true, and we are in him that is true, even in his Son Jesus Christ. This is the true God, and eternal life.

I am an outsider and I am not at all convinced by the claim that it shows amazing love compared to other demonstrations of love.

Firstly Jesus knew it would not be death, but death and resurrection after a couple of days. Humans who give their lives who don’t believe in an afterlife are giving so much more.

Secondly, there is no reason for the death other than to get round rules God made up. God could forgive us without any divine death, as King David was. And we are instructed to forgive each other’s sins without “payment”. See the parable of the unmerciful servant.

He suffered the full wrath of God for every sin everyone has ever committed! That was the real horror of the cross. But He was beaten and did die horribly too. Are you aware that He was questioned by Roman soldiers and did not open His mouth? They would increase their abuse until you confessed to whatever crime you were charged with… He didn’t speak at all.. He was exquisitely tortured. Jesus’ payment for our sins included King David’s sin as well as those who sin against us. You don’t know why God had to do it, but He’s entirely trustworthy in everything that humanity can probe with our understanding.
