I have been wrestling with different interpretations of the Genesis account of creation. While I realize knowing how old the earth is has no bearing on my faith in Christ, I would love to come closer to the truth on this.
As one growing up believing in a young earth, I’ve always wondered about the possibility of if God created the earth with age, just as he seemingly had done with Adam and Eve (if you believe they were real historical people).
Could this be possible?
That is always what I believed, I joined a group on Facebook called YEC (young earth creationist) and found it very helpful. You might want to join.
So god would create the earth with the appearance of being vastly older than it is? To what, trick us?

I trust God and His account. Science must square with it.
There are several versions of creationism. Young Earth is the most popular. There is also Day Age, Omphalus, old earth, gap creationism, intelligent design, theistic evolution. YEC is the most popular among conservatives
Don’t sweat it too much. God will fill you in on all of it when you get to heaven.
Anything but a literal interpretation not only undermines the Book of Genesis, but the entire Bible. After all, if God can’t be trusted to document life as it actually happened, then how can He be trusted with anything else? For me, the literal six days of creation and one day of rest is the only way to go.
