I am a Christian because God himself chose me in Christ before the foundation of the world, predestinated me unto the adoption of children by Jesus Christ to himself and he drew me to himself and gave me the faith to believe. That is why I believe and am a Christian. It was all God’s doing and he gets all the glory for it.

I’ve been a Christian for more than 20 years and sorry to say I don’t think I’ve ever been genuinely asked that question. I’ve had countless people answer it for me “you’re a Christian because… you were born in the west, or born to Christian parents, or it’s your support crutch”
But that said if I WAS genuinely asked that question I think I would try and explain that it has been a journey for me. First I had a born again experience which was a change in my heart towards God and everything else for that matter – this is something I can’t really explain, it’s been a heart thing, it’s just the way it happened for me. but as years have passed it’s also become just as much a rational/logical/mental step for me. The gospel makes so much sense. It’s the most sense I’ve ever heard.
Jesus is the answer, the alpha and omega. -
I would answer that i am a Christian because God has revealed to me the truth through the preaching of his word, i was a dead man been made alive by the power of the Holy Spirit of God.

I am a human being. I am created by our Lord God. I am born dead (innate sin of my forefather and mother). I can remain dead (commit sin). I can end up in hell (home to death and devil)..

..I am a Christian. I am recreated by Lord God. I am born again (alive in our Lord Jesus Immanuel Christ). I can remain alive (obey our Lord Jesus Immanuel Christ). I can end up in heaven (home to our Almighty God)..

Christian is a massive word, covers a lot of claims.
A follower of Christ is the correct identification, one who loves Christ and keeps His commandments.
I believed in Him, my salvation and became a follower of Christ as I responded to His calling, not only to be a hearer of the Word, but also a doer of the Word.

I am a Christian because I met The Lord In the hospital my daughter was dying from ryes syndrome her chances of survival were almost zero, but I cried to the Lord and He told me to REPENT after REPENTANCE He told me He was going to heal her and He did I CANNOT FORGET WHAT GOD HAS DONE!!!

I’m a disciple…..I sparingly use the word Christian. It has at times a negative connotation so I don’t use it much.
