I’m posting this in the hopes that there are some on this page, that truly study, and practice apologetics. And not just apologetics, but evangelism, sharing the gospel that saves. My wife and I actively shared the gospel at a very liberal college campus close to us, until this whole covid thing. Always using some worldview argument, as a means to get to the gospel. If you actively evangelize, street preach, witness/ engage in apologetics, what are your favorite worldview topics to use, to get them to gospel truth? What are your least favorite worldview topics to discuss? Abortion, Islam, homosexuality, atheist, mormon, jehovah witness, satanist, trans gender, an individual following a false gospel, evolutionist. These are just a few topics. What are you strong in? Where do you lack? Praying that we can edify one another, and those that may have an area of weakness, we can all, as part of the body of Christ, help them/us gain knowledge, God willing.

I enjoy talking about atheism. Also, just curious what you mean about evolutionist.
I love talking about it all. I’ve studied a lot about the cults. I also feel strongly and have apologetic stances against evolution , Bible fallibility , Bible transmission /translation. And of course abortion is one I deal with often. And homosexuality .
I live in the UK and try to witness to Muslims as much as I can. I try post arguments on this page to share my thoughts and get ideas from others but generally the responses are very vague, weak and unrefined.
Having policed this sick society for 31-yrs and debated atheists for years…the Spirit has placed upon my heart the truism that the primary causation for today’s modern atheist is a successful progressive socialist strategy implemented in 1963 by infusing Darwinian evolutionary theory masquerading as a biological “science” into the American classrooms while strategically teaching historical revisionism and Leninism-Marxism in the humanities…these two-deceptions combined as a catalyst to effectively morph two-three generations of American youth into atheistic-nihilistic-naturalistic-socialistic progressives who are thoroughly brainwashed and unfortunately, most will never come to a knowledge of the Truth. This all manifest subsequent to removing Jesus Christ from the classroom via case law such as Engel v. Vitale (1962).
If you desire to reach the Millennial and Gen-Z generations, the Gen-X as well…you’ll have to be sufficiently armed with knowledge concerning the debunked “Big Bang,” abiogenesis, descent with modification-molecules to man evolution, speciation-variation-adaptation, micro v. – macro evolution v. species v. KIND and you need a healthy knowledge of true American history, our Founders, our Christian heritage, our Rights, the history of Progressive Socialism beginning with John Dewey in 1900…these are minimum if you desire to debate the Gospel message and have any hope of reaching a “few” of America’s lost, addicted, perverted, deceived, confused and dying youth.
You should start with the gospel. Something God based, explaining why Christ died on the cross & Gods great love for each of us. You may not get much time so cut to the quick.
My apologetics is based on defending church history: slavery, the Inquisition, Nazism, racism, colonialism, and the supposed anti-scientific history of the church. How can Christians defend Jesus and his Word against these accusations? It’s a difficult arena, but there ARE answers!
In my continued daily walk as a minister of the gospel, I do not walk by a prescribed formula but more often than not, I watch the way the Holy Spirit moves the conversation. I find building relationship by finding things they are interested in often allows for open communication which then leads to generally more inquisitive worldview discussions. At which point I am always referring every purpose and action back to Jesus and his love for us. Of the thousands I have preached to, shared the gospel with and engaged in their story I am always amazed how God uses my deficiency to bring about his purpose. From the most simplest of comments to the deepest avenues of philosophy it really is all about him and he uses any environment or situation to his end!

Paul said that he preaches Christ crucified! Faith comes by hearing, hearing the Word of God. What did Peter say on the day of Pentecost? He preached the Gospel. Forget the tactics, just do as the Apostles did !!! It is the Gospel that is the power of God Unto salvation!
I like to meet them where they are at. Get to know them, what are their thoughts, beliefs, their life their history and then they are more open to hearing mine. Not arguing or trying to prove something. Just letting God do His thing. I feel I’m more of an effective tool just being a friend and neighbor. I use to be very argumentative in my youth and zeal for enangelism, but have found to be more effective just being a friend.
I’m still learning but I’m good with C.E.Os (Christmas and Easter Only) we always start off with the time and I slowly work in that there are other times on the clock, I’ve used it five times and got five people to commit to one full month and then they end up staying. I have found it’s easier for me to witness when we have some kind of a relationship even if it’s just that we wave at each other at the grocery. I absolutely stink witnessing to pro-choicers and I know it’s because I’m too desperate to save the baby.
Very nice post, I wish you guys the best in what you’re doing. I am working towards being able to do that in a public forum myself so I admire your courage good work. On a personal level when I’m witnessing to people I often start by telling them about how I personally was such an ardent materialist/atheist that I thought claiming Christianity as literal/historical truth was so ridiculous that it didn’t even warrant any investigation. I then tell them that my deepest regret is not looking into these claims sooner as I now see how dead wrong I was. I feel this initial kind of volley of humility makes people see you’re a lot like them and are humble rather than looking down on them, judging them, or telling them what they should do and think.
For many years I have been a student of apologetics. I only wish I could find an apologetics based Pastor here in Nashville.

I love talking creation science to a worldly person and actually even some Christians because it is a wonderful opportunity to share the gospel. It is a wonderful opportunity to get into the word.
I love, when people say “the bible was written by man”, my response is always the same. “The bible was inspired by God, written down by man for the good purpose that those who have the wisdom to look within find life everlasting”. Then I ask them if there textbook, that was written by man is able to provide life everlasting. That is normally when they walk away or start asking some really good questions.

Since I am not in a remote place in the world where Christianity is not know at all I asked them first what is it about Christianity that gives them pause. I then try to answer the actual questions they are asking. BTW evolution I do not confirm but I do not think that has anything to do with the gospel.
I was directing a meeting at a 40k+ plus student campus. The student pres of the atheist society stood up in the meeting and said he would never believe in Christianity because it is obvious that the earth is not 6000 years old and he affirmed evolution. I said there are basically 3 camps in Christianity on how to handle that. YEC, OEC and EC. I told him all three affirm the core beliefs of Christianity as well as all Orthodox and RC. That being the death deity and resurrection of Jesus Christ. I told him he could join the EC and his evolutionary views are welcome. I then said now that is fixed for you are you ready to become a Christian. He said no. I then said so evolution wasn’t your real issue. What is your real issue? He sat down and was quiet and never came back.
A YEC and a OEC would have had a much harder time revealing the truth like Ravi says. He says apologetics only get excuses out of the way so they can see it is actually a moral reason that holds them back
My challenge is to convince Christians in a liberal church that the Bible is God-breathed, real historical narrative and to be taken seriously.
I try to validate the thoughts and concerns an honest seeker might have. I ask the Holy Spirit to help me discern true intention. If someone is dug in and looking for a fight I kindly move on. If someone is interested I answer them according to their need with Christ as the reason I am there.

the scientific and logic ends of apologetics is only to remove the cloud in their mind that is based on false information such as science has proven the Bible wrong or things the Bible says that the Bible does not say or contradictions these kinds of things Then you get into the real heart of the matter.
In my experience apologetics is about decluttering and organizing the thoughts of their mind so that you can speak to the heart.
There’s the reason they initially give for not believing God which is a lie that they’ve told themselves when you get right down to it it’s either suffering or judgment that they do not understand.
This is why apologetics requires a very strong understanding of theology that when you can address their suffering or the judgment of God and speak to that directly then you can start speaking to the person instead of the argument and show them the truth.
I’m for that, I just will NOT have ANYTHING to do with “pastor bashing.”
Any books that speaks of Apologetics does NOT mention hardly ANY pastors.
So that’s what I stand on.
I preach the cross of Jesus, nothing more. Only the preaching of a crucified Messiah who loved them to the point of death can ignite a hard hardened heart to repent.
I am strong in cult apologetics. Not just Mormonism and the Jehovah’s Witnesses – Newsflash: it’s not the 1970s and 21 year olds are not rushing out and joining the JWs. There’s a new breed of cults, new religious movements, spiritualities that people are getting involved in – from the World Mission Society Church of God to Burning Man to The Secret. The church needs to wake up and understand the new spiritual threats of today if they are going to make an impact!

I am more friendship based in evangelism, hough I don’t see any fruit yet. I’ve found that the women I talk to don’t want to think about things, don’t care about what is or isn’t true.
While I was travelling this winter, I did have an excellent conversation with an older atheist gentleman, where asking thoughful questions gave him pause to think differently.

I try to lead everyone to asking about definition and origin of good and evil to then ask what defines a good person, and then … do you consider yourself to be a good person?
Then I use Jesus as an example of a good person and take it from there. Of course we apply different approaches to different kinds of people as The Holy Spirit Leads. If God doesn’t touch their hearts yet, it is realy hard to discuss with someone who has their mind bounded already
