It is generally accepted knowledge that when eve ate from the tree of knowledge of good and evil, that was the original sin. However, the serpent/Satan was already in the garden before mankind was created, meaning him and 1/3 of the legion of angels had fallen. We have to assume that you cannot fall from heaven without committing sin. So my questions is this, did satan or eve actually commit the first sin?

I would say Eve’s sin was the first human sin. Angles and demons also have free choice.

“Original sin” is a concept to describe man’s first sin and sin entering into earth.
Satan most likely sinned sometime during the creation of the earth.
There are however those in the camp that the war of the angels talked about in the Bible is still yet to come. In Job, Satan still seemed to have access to heaven to talk to God. It’s possible that Lucifer is still making his demons and that the war of heaven is still coming. Who knows?

how do we know exactly that satan was already in the gardon before man was created? the other thing is this, theres no doubt there was sin in heaven or at least in the counsel because God tossed satan out like an ole rotten tater this is why he’ll be making all things new. plus God told adam to not eat from the tree, thus we are to focus on the narrative at hand, the question then might want to be rephrased, if the sin was rebellion and God through him down, was sin in the gardon or just the agent of sin at that point embodied in the snake?

We don’t know when Lucifer committed sin and whether he did it before or after man was placed in Eden. But of course both Eve and Satan committed sin for them to be banished from the presence of God, but a solution for Eve and was found.

Eden wasn’t in heaven. Eden was a creation of God. Satan had already fallen by then. And he could lurk in the creation. The very first sin was by Satan. And the 2nd being to sin we know of is Eve who was being manipulated.

Connect these: Darkness, dust, flesh. These are the makeup of “serpent”. The voice of the serpent was Eve’s own flesh. The conversation she was having was within herself. Proof of a breach that occurred between First Day darkness called Night and light called Day… which represents our inner spiritual makeup. Our hearts if you will. Dust we are… but that’s not all our beings consist of. We are the dust part.
Consider also that man was created “flesh and blood” with a natural ability to “procreate”. Both implying physical death since flesh/blood and darkness would not have a place in the end and immortal beings in the beginning would have no reason to procreate.

The ‘first sinner’ was Satan. The ‘original sin’ that brought decay and death (time) to humans was Eve then Adam. The sin of Eve and Adam corrupted the perfect code of the the natural universe.

This depends on whether or not “darkness” is indeed the substance of evil. Most Hebrews / Jews would say yes. Most Christains would say no. It is certainly used as an idiom throughout the bible to represent evil. Devil = evil is the absence of God= good in as much as darkness is the absence of light. Death is void of life. Life is full. So, The earth was created in darkness and void. Then God entered and said “Let there be light!”…His light. And soon thereof that which was void and desolate now sprang to life with light sustaining life. So my point is, in order to know and understand the difference between good and evil it must therefore exsist. If God created and established His perfect order of things on earth, then anything outside or in opposition to that order is evil.

The serpent was in the garden, who possessed the serpent. Lucifer is a spirit therefore can possess any creature, an animal is a defenceless being because only function on instinct no able to reason.

I think the second sin was Adam’s. He was put in charge of the garden by God, and was responsible for what happened inside of its boundaries. Adam was supposed to keep the garden safe and be Eve’s protector, but he failed to protect her against the Enemy. Eve’s succumbing to the serpent’s wily lies was the third sin.

This is a “Which came first? The Chicken or the Egg?” type of argument.
The point of the story is showing when and how SIN entered into the human race. Up until then humans enjoyed a wonderful loving relationship with God.
God would come down to Earth, talk and visit with Adam and Eve. But after they disobeyed God and ate the fruit, they lost that fellowship with God.

Adam was held responsible because he was not deceived. He ate the fruit of the tree knowing that what God said was true. Eve doubted what God said was true and was deceived by the serpent.
Also, I am not sure that it is appropriate to call Satan’s rebellion, sin. Sin can be dealt with through a blood sacrifice. Our sin debt was paid for by the blood of Christ and we are forgiven. Christ incarnated Himself as a human being to make that sacrifice.
Since the fallen ones are not human and do not have blood, they cannot be redeemed by blood. Salvation is not offered to the fallen angelic beings, only to humans. They rebelled, but SIN is peculiar to man.

What we think we know is that Eve ate the apple first. So we assume that she sinned first as far as humanity is concerned, yet how can we say she rebelled against God when He gave the command to Adam. Now think. If you say that He gave the command to both of them even though she was not yet created. Then we must conclude that the old testament laws and rituals are still binding on all people to all generation.

Yes, satan and his fallen angels did commit the first sin ever, but his fall did not directly affect us as Adam and Eve’s sin did. His temptation and their failing is what brought us to the broken state. It was not until Christ was tempted in the wilderness that we see a perfect response to the enemy’s temptation. Through the sin of one man,Adam death entered the world. But, “For as by a man came death, by a man has come also the resurrection of the dead.” 1 Corinthians 15:21

Why was it sinful in the first place?
The tree is literally called “the tree of the knowledge of good and evil.” They didn’t have knowledge of good and evil until they ate it. How in the world can they be blamed?
If someone tells you not to do something and you don’t know that disobedience is evil—there is NOTHING stopping you from doing it.

Well satan was a Cherubim created by God magnificent in the day of his creation but he rebelled against God before the earth was formed well as far as I understand it. Satan causing a rebellion in heaven satan persuading a third of the angels to rebel with him. This rebellion caused a war in heaven and there was no place found for satan in heaven any more. God creates the heaven and the earth a physical material world and then makes a physical material body for a spiritual being to live in called man. God commands the man one commandment which is passed unto the woman God makes a little later. Eze 28:12-19 seems to be talking of a creature that could well be satan. The first sin committed by mankind brings sin into the world and death with it, satan gaining power in Gods world because Adam and Eve yielded willingly to him. Satan reports to Jesus that all the kingdoms of the world have been given to him when he tries to temp Jesus in the wilderness. It was Adam disobedience that enabled this to happen. Of course satans reign as prince and power of the air is only temporary. Satan came into the garden of God disguised as a four legged creature called a serpent. Whether he actually spoke in an audible voice or not or whether it was into Eves mind he spoke I dont know. What I do know is that he speaks into our minds today doesn’t he? Once I did hear an audible voice that I believe was him, I was having problems with a particular sin that I couldn’t seem to defeat. One morning I was washing the dishes and I heard a particularly nasty audible voice speak saying “I have utterly cut you off” I seemed to immediately know that it was the devil, which I rebuked in Jesus name. Paul states that it was by one mans disobedience that sin entered the world, so I will go with Paul on this one. That man was the first man Adam, why Adam and not Eve I have an answer to this but this post will become to long as it already has lol.

These are irrelevant questions if you read Hebrews 2:16 you know that angels have no recourse if they fell.. so calling their deeds Original Sin is pointless.. man however was created in the god class and are subject to Redemption through Jesus and Adam’s choice to disobey God’s command to stay clear of the tree of the knowledge of Good and Evil was the original sin
