Thought this was an interesting question: How can Jesus be both God and the Son of God?
Yes He is. God came in the flesh and dwelt among us. He laid down His life and by His own power He took it up again. He was the son of man and he was man. He was Son of God and He was God.
Take a tub of water. Evaporate 1/3, freeze 1/3, leave 1/3, as liquid. That’s kinda what the Trinity is.
Yes. He was with the Father in the beginning along with the Holy Spirit. Genesis 1:26 states, “And let us make man in our own image…”
Trinity all over the Bible buy one
The mystery of the trinity. If God was not a trinity Jesus couldn’t die for our sins. All members of the Godhead made salvation possible. The sacrifice of Isaac by Abraham is a reflection of how God would save mankind. That’s the amazing God we serve.
GOD is GOD
Jesus is God in the flesh
Holy Spirit is God in the spirit
We were made in his image.
We have a body
And we have a spirit
God is the overseer of all.
Does anyone here follow Ravi Zacharias?
To understand God the Father, Christ or the Holy Spirit using just logic makes things really hard for a finite mind.
Be reasonable, use your common sense. The question is like asking “How can Seth be man and son of man” its what you can answer easily.
The Son of God was a title or position referring to the Divinity of Jesus Christ as He walked on earth. Jesus Christ is God 100%.
easily, since He is.
My son is human, and a son of a human, why is that so hard?
The father is God, the son is God, the holy spirit is God.
Because Jesus is the Son of God, he is therefore God. The question could be understood in two ways. “God” can mean either the divine nature or the person of God the Father. In reference to God the Father, Jesus is not both the Son and the Father. In reference to the nature of Jesus, he is God the Son. The son of anything has the same nature as the father. If the Father is God, then so is His Son.
Because the Bible most definitely affirms both to be true. “Before Abraham was, I am”. It’s merely our peanut brains that cannot wrap around this divine revelation.
“Son of God” is a title.
Because God is a Triune God. 3 distinct persons, co-eternal. All have the same attributes as God. God, first. Son, second person revealed. Holy Spirit, Third person revealed. All God by way of omnipotence, omnipresence, and omniscience.
Easy peesy, chessy!
John 1:3
Through him all things were made; without him nothing was made that has been made.
Colossians 1:15-18 New International Version (NIV)
The Supremacy of the Son of God
15 The Son is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn over all creation. 16 For in him all things were created: things in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or powers or rulers or authorities; all things have been created through him and for him. 17 He is before all things, and in him all things hold together. 18 And he is the head of the body, the church; he is the beginning and the firstborn from among the dead, so that in everything he might have the supremacy. how can I be a dad, son, brother, husband, cousin….?
Jesus said before abraham was , I Am! Its clear to me. I guess because ive been born again. You seem to want to justify false presupasitions. I hope you believe before you have to face judgement.
Why do you think the pharisees had him crucified? Its odviously because he claimed to be God!
Jesus is God the Son as He entered Time, at the behest of the Father, to defeat the works of the Devil (1 John 3:8). Jesus Christ and the Father and the Spirit are all God, one-God, coequal in all things yet there is an agreement, a delineation of authority among the Trinity to demonstrate order and respect in all things…this is done as an example to both the angelic and human creation as we are to respect order in the family unit, the government as well.
Jesus is God, who being Spirit, honored the Father’s will and entered Time through the womb of a virgin to circumvent the sin-nature passed through the seed of the man, Adam. In subservience to the Father’s will, Jesus is known as God’s Son and Jesus will forever, subsequent to the resurrection in a glorified body, be known as the Son of God and we, who will live with Him forever in our own glorified body, will recognize and worship Him as God’s Son who suffered and died so that we could live through Him as Lord and Mediator for sin.
“The Father loves the Son and has given all things into His hand.” John 3:35
God is One What and Three Whos.
There is only One God YHWH and He has three distinct persons. The Father, Son, and Holy Spirit..the Father is Not the Son, the Son is Not the Father, and the Holy Spirit is Neither the Father Nor the Son.
According to Nabeel Qureshi in, “Seek Allah, finding Jesus” They have one essence or being and three separate different personalities that act in independent unity with each other.
If you read the entire bible either you can be left with contradictions, or rightly identify what YHWH is saying in His Word and accept it accordingly. Above all the scriptures are God breathed, infallible, and Absolute Truth (2 Tim 3:16). Therefore they have NO contradictions, so there must be another answer!
The scripture is clear of these four facts: All scriptures (KJV NO copyright)
1.) The Lord God is One (Deut 6:4)
2.) The Father is God (2 Peter 1:17) For He received from God the Father honor and glory when such a voice came to Him from the Excellent Glory: “This is My beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased.”
3.) The Son is God (John 1:1,14a) In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. 2 He was in the beginning with God .And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us,
4.) The Holy Spirit is God (Acts 5:3-5) Peter asked, “Ananias, why has Satan filled your heart so that you should lie to the Holy Spirit and keep back some of the money you got for the land? As long as it remained unsold, wasn’t it your own? And after it was sold, wasn’t the money at your disposal? So how could you have thought of doing what you did? You didn’t lie only to men, but also to God!” When Ananias heard these words, he fell down and died. And great fear seized everyone who heard about it.
From a clear exegeses of scripture we see that all three persons the Father, Son, and Spirit are called God. Does this somehow contradict Deut 6:4?
As we can see we have been forced into this view, by the text of scripture itself which is from YHWH Himself. He has made it this way and we are correct enough not to question our Creator when He says,” I am One What and Three Whos”. I can’t fathom what this means but it doesn’t mean that I shouldn’t believe it. I can’t fathom nuclear physics but I certainly believe it.
The Bible has proven itself True objectivity with the scores of fulfilled prophecies. It has likewise proven itself True subjectively, by the innumerable lives transformed by the Truth it gives..the Hope…and the Love it brings to this fallen world.
Why does this matter? What is love? We hear God is love, buy why?
We know the Bible is trustworthy because of the fulfilled prophecy and changed lives, so we then must reconcile the Oneness of God in scriptures with the scriptures that tell us the Son and the Spirit are also both God.
I think that like in so many cases in life the answer is found in LOVE. As explained by Abdu Murray “Trinity”, existenceofgod.org
In John 4:8b-9 we read the following, “Because God is love. In this the love of God was made manifest among us, that God sent his only Son into the world, so that we might live through him.” ( KJV NO copyright)
If God truly is Love and He truly is self existent or has true aseity, He would have to by necessity have the ability to love in and of Himself. But how could the One true God of Love actually love before He first brought into existence?
Are we to understand that God was not truly complete in and of Himself, and He did not love before He created an object to love? If God must create out of necessity, the need to have an objective to love, was He complete in and of Himself before He created?
God is a God of relationships, He Loves His creation and wants to have a right relationship with it.
If God is only one in nature and one in person then He would have been lacking the ability to Love from eternity past. He would have to have first created something to love before He could Love, so He couldn’t truly be perfect even in His “aseity”. Or would He even have aseity? He would not have had the capacity to have a love relationship with anyone. Except this contradicts the definition of aseity which is existing in and of self. If God couldn’t Love prior to creation, He does not have true aseity. If God is both One in nature and, and one in person then He could not have loved prior to bringing the first creature into existence. Love could have been nothing more than a concept with no real context. The God of the Bible is described as complete not lacking anything form eternity past. A God who lacks the ability to be fully complete outside of creation is not the God which the Bible has revealed to us.
In Bible, as we have shown, God has reveled himself to be One in nature and Three in persons. We have also shown that in-order to be a God of Love, God must have loved before bringing His first creation into existence. God is necessarily a triune God. Meaning it is necessary for Him to be a triune being in-order to be perfect.
The law of parsimony says that the hypotheses with the least amount of assumptions must be true. The least amount of persons you would need in-order to enjoy all three types of relationships which are self-directed, others-directed, and community-directed would be a minimum of three persons. This would mean three is the necessary number to fulfill the three types of relationships.
This is answered in the Triune nature of God as reveled in His Word.
The Father loved the Son, the Son loved the Father , the Spirit loved both who also loved each other. Living in perfect triune relational love without the need to create. This is true aseity.
He is God much like my child is also a Carter.
Because He’s God, God can do anything, even if the simple human mind cannot comprehend it.
The son of a cat is a cat. The son of a dog is a dog. The son of a human is a human. The Son of God IS GOD!
Water. Ice. Steam. All the same
Please read: Philippians 2:5-7
The Bible tells us that Jesus is co-eternal with God the Father and, like Him, Jesus existed forever. Jesus was part of the trinity, the God – Head, but he became human so that he could enter into our world and be the only worthy sacrifice to die for humans. You see, Jesus was part of the world’s creation and man’s creation. So it is a reasonable sacrifice for the creator to die to make restitution for the sins of the created.
The Bible states that Jesus Christ ‘though he was in the form of God, did not count equality with God a thing to be grasped, but made himself nothing, taking the form of a servant, being born in the likeness of men. And being found in human form, He humbled himself by becoming obedient to the point of death, even death on a cross.’ (Philippians 2:6-8) The actual ‘mechanics’ of how God had a human son are not explained to us, but we are left in no doubt that Mary’s conception and pregnancy are miraculous.
The gospel of John speaks about ‘the Word becoming flesh’. ‘The Word’ is Jesus – who was with God in the beginning – and he became flesh. This makes it clear that Jesus is the eternal God becoming human. It isn’t so much that God the Father had a human son, but that God’s son became human for our sake.
Ice and steam didn’t stop being water
We may call ice steam and mist different because of their forms, but they are still water.
Steam is not Mist or Ice, but is Water
Mist is not Steam or Ice, but is Water
Ice is not Steam or Mist, but is Water
You can have all three present at the sametime and they function differently, but it’s still water nonetheless. But one is less water than the other or is separate from the other ones.
Because all 3 being were named God. Lord God-Jesus, Father God-Jehovah, Holy Spirit God. The Father is not the Son, the Son is not the Holy Spirit, the Holy Spirit is not the Father, the Son is not the Father, the Father is not the Holy Spirit, but all three are God. The Godhead is the Trinity. So yes, Jesus is 100% God and 100% man.
You are the same.
You have flesh, Mind and Soul
Your Flesh is not your Mind or Soul (Thank the Lord), but they are you
Your soul is not your flesh or Mind, but are you
Your Mind is not your Soul or Flesh, but are you.
All are 100% you and cannot be taken from you.
Because God, was inside the body of Jesus.
How can you be body, soul and spirit. Haha.. God did something that only God could do.. The supernatural. He became one of us. He humbled himself and took on himself a body and lived a life in earth. There’s nothing hard about understanding that, though yes there is some deep thinking even in that..
Maybe put your question this way: How can God be Jesus Christ, the Son of God at the time? To answer your question first may I know if you are aware of this All-Powerful, All-Presence and All-Knowing God? This our God, in fact, the creator is the all and all who can do anything at will without help of thought or other of any of His creations. He doesn’t need and you to take decision/do anythjng. He can even be in (take) any form and uncountable number present any time without mistake. He created man in His (God’s) image. Man lost this image. God decided to bring man back to God’s (His) image Pure, without contamination. It, therefore, makes sense that He is the only One to do this job, so He made (produced) Himself to become Man, Christ (incarnate) Pure without contamination.
God has always been. There was never a time God wasn’t. God created everything, the only thing not created by God was God, because God always was, is, and will be. So God didn’t create the Son of God, the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit were always here, living in a loving relationship. Jesus took on humanity and became one of us, then took our sins upon Himself, justifying us before God giving us His righteousness while He took our punishment. I cannot imagine what that was like, the Father not only turning His back on the Son but crushing Him for every evil thing each one of us done to the nth degree. So now we are forgiven out of the grace of God, because of God, for no other reason.
God is a spirit…that spirit indwelled in a man. Pretty simple.
HE IS GOD!!! HE CREATED EVERYTHING IN CREATION. I THINK HE CAN DO AND BE EVERY THING HE WANTS
Great is the mystery of Godliness .I cannot explain it.But your son is a copy of you he has your name.
This deals with the truth of the trinity. The trinity is the idea that God is three persons in one being. These three person are God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Ghost/Spirit. God the Son is begotten of the Father, God the Holy Spirit is breathed forth from the Father and the Son, and God the Father begets the Son and breathes forth the Spirit. This relationship is beyond our full understanding and it is, not necessarily irrational, but more super-rational.
Don’t think from a human view point.
? water
Ice
Liquid
Gas
All water
Easy. God is Spirit and that Spirit is Omnipresent. The invisible Spirit manifested in flesh The Father/Spirit and.the Son/flesh.
Philippians 2:5–8 (NKJV): 5 Let this mind be in you which was also in Christ Jesus, 6 who, being in the form of God, did not consider it robbery to be equal with God, 7 but made Himself of no reputation, taking the form of a bondservant, and coming in the likeness of men. 8 And being found in appearance as a man, He humbled Himself and became obedient to the point of death, even the death of the cross.
Thats what said it. That’s said God say it
