yeah thats just not the case. While I don’t identify as baptist, I do go to a southern baptist church, we don’t just hold our denomination will be in heaven. as my pastor loves to say “when we get to heaven we’ll be surprised who all will be there”

Independent Baptist Churches in the Philippines are teaching this and even their Bible schools…and many missionaries sent out to preach the same thing. So many Christian looks at other churches which is not Baptist thinking those are fake churches…

One more thing the Baptist missionaries are doing in Southeast Asia: They Baptize again Christians who are from another Protestant churches saying those churches do not have the authority from God to baptize, so their baptism is invalid…

Water baptism does nothing with regards to salvation. All Christians (those already born again) should be “water” baptized. The baptism that saves is when the Holy Spirit immerses one INTO Jesus Christ. Its supernatural, not physical and its God doing the baptism.

I’ve been in and out of the Baptist (mainly southern baptist.) church a good part of my life and never have I ever heard this type of theology. And there are different parts to the Baptist church, so you may want to be specific in saying that because that’s a very broad stoke there.

I know of no baptists that believe like this. And any that do shouldn’t be given the time of day.

Some Seventh day Adventist said that if you are not SDA you won’t go to heaven! So don’t worry about what religion say.

God has a special place in heaven for those Baptists, he wouldn’t want them to see all us Presbyterians! Of course I am joking, I was a Baptist for many years, we had our distinctives but I never heard anyone teaching that, except in jest.

There will be a plethora of denominations represented, in heaven. Including Pentecostals, Charismatics, Word Of Faith, Arminians, Calvinists, and Modalists (Oneness). Church of Christ as well. I know I’m gonna catch flack for saying Modalists (Oneness) but I don’t care. Unlike some other sects (cults), atleast they believe The Father , Son, and Holy Ghost are all fully God.

Non-Baptists are not fake. Evangelicals are Christian churches. They may not be RIGHT CHURCHES, but all who believe in Christ are saved. While we look to Baptists as the Churches of Christ, we NEVER teach only Baptists are saved. Salvation is by faith alone not of works. Baptism, as so with all other Christian virtues are part of obedience and growth.

Mark 1:8 NIVSeems to me being baptized by the spirit would matter more. The thief on the cross with Jesus wasn’t baptized by water. But had received forgiveness and a promise from Jesus.
Lastly I would offer. A water baptism is just a public announcement of our faith. That we confess Jesus is Lord publicly, and symbolically showing we believe in the resurrection. Kinda like …

Romans 10:9 NIVAlso historically we don’t have any definitive proof of how the apostles performed water baptisms. Was it sprinkling, full emersion, or just dunking a head in a horse trough? We don’t know. We do know some of the earliest traditions were sprinkling as a lot of the Old Testament talks about “pouring out the Spirit”. I think it was the anabaptist that started the full emersion baptisms.
My personal opinion is to agree with Paul. God gets the glory. It is not by works that we are saved. And I would see the baptism as works alone. I would also see the work of any “true church”, as just that, work. (For the record this Baptist believes the true church is the body of Christ, all true believers regardless of denomination). Just my two cents.

Every denomination would love to claim exclusivity with God to some degree. It’s the byproduct of being inherently a human institution. No matter how nobel their intentions.

I am a member of a local Baptist(SBC) body of believers in central South Carolina. We have been members of four different SBC assemblies. I have never heard the false teaching that only Baptists will be at the marriage supper if the lamb.
