Foundations by Sproul is good.
Wayne Grudem, Frame, Calvin and Bavinck are all recommended.
Another couple of books I’d highly recommend are by G.K. Beale. The New Testament use of the Old Testament, and Biblical Theology (let me check the last title)

Any Non-Calvinistic Systematic Theology.
You don’t want to end up in a queue, salivating, and waiting for Wayne Grudem to sign a copy of your book because Calvinism has robbed you of your fruit and made you into a Calvin worshipper.

I like Norman Geisler’s series. While I don’t agree 100% with all of his positions, you can’t beat his systematic theology series IMO. It is a 4 book series.

Biblical Theology by Vos or a great systematics is Berkhoff. Im currently listening to Calvin’s Institutes on Audible. My eyes ain’t what they used to be.

Wayne Grudem’s Systematic Theology or Bible Doctrine.

Theology for the Community of God. By Stanley Grenz. Everyone in my PhD studies favour this book. It is not Calvinist, more Baptist. But well written and fairly easy to read!

Some are reformed and some don’t even address what the 1st century church believed ! Find out what the schools are using and your theological approach will probably become more current ! -

If you want a good introduction, I recommend Basic Theology by Charles Ryrie-dispensational and premil.

If you want a good rounded intro and indepth study, Erickson covers them all in Christian Theology 3rd Edition, its a textbook plus good resource to know about theologies from all standing points, its not biased

A man asked God to teach him the scriptures. God sent a systematic theology, a commentary and a weekly sermon all by faithful, Bible believing people. The man ignored them all, wasted years of his life in heresy, counterfeits and false prophesies. At the end of his life he prayed asking God why he led him astray. God replied that he sent plenty of help but the man had wanted to go it alone. What can I say? The Holy Spirit still speaks through good Bible teachers today, but some men still think they can go it alone.

Berkhoff has 3 different versions of his Systematics. If you are new at this I recommend, A summery of Christian Doctrine; If you are somewhat familiar in wrestling with doctrine then The Manual of Christian Doctrine; If you are a Doctrinal bulwark then his Systematic Theology book is for you. No matter which one you choose Berkoff will not disappoint.

In one sense I agree. I’m not interested in a book by someone who doesn’t believe the Bible is God’s Word. That’s why I will only trust a theology by someone who clearly states their belief in the Bible as the Word of God.
