The Jews knew and believed the Scriptures. What about this generation who doubt the reliability of the Bible. Difficult appealing to a source others don’t trust. This morning Steve Forkin T 10:00 AEST will present a seminar on the reliability of Scripture. Stand 2020.

We are supposed to contend our faith in a way that shows passion and conviction towards our faith. I pray in my head to God to allow the Holy Spirit to work through me and allow me to be an amazing ambassador for Christ. I believe we must be caring, in a sense of knowing that we are not trying to win a fight, but more of demonstrating a Christlike attitude. The discussion is not a horizontal one between the person and me, it is a vertical discussion with me as the conduit between the person and God. I should not take offence to what is being said. When they do not like the Scripture, it is not me they do not like. I did not write the scripture. However, I do believe it and defend it. That is why I do this simple format:
Answering with a threefold, answer, 1) discussion that lead to scripture, 2) how it applies to them/us, and 3) ask them a question.
For example: A question from a person – “How come you believe in Jesus?”
1) Word that lead to scripture – “I am a sinner. You are sinner. Everyone sins or does things wrong. See, sin is doing things wrong. Could be small or large. See “3b by nature [we are] children of wrath, even as the rest. 4 But God, being rich in mercy, because of His great love with which He loved us, 5 even when we were dead in our transgressions [or sins], made us alive together with Christ (by grace you have been saved),” (Ephesians 2:3b-5)
2) How it applies to them/us – “I could never shake the fact that I did wrong things. But Jesus Saved me. Jesus can save you. I had this guilt. Sometimes it came out as anger. Of course, that was not the only reason I was angry. If someone got in my way, like a car pulled in front of me, I was angry. Sometimes when I did things wrong, I felt guilty. That was sin, But Jesus rid me of that sin, and He can rid you of that sin too.”
3) The question – “How do you deal with guilt?”
Scripture Note:
The New Living Translation is a “thought-for-thought” translation. Therefore, and is only suitable for light reading. The NIV is a “meaning-for-meaning” translation is a step up. I will not go any further than that, so we don’t rile up the KJVO troops into this where we are not writing about bible versions. All I know it is better than “The Message” which, I do not consider a bible. -
