“In a curious twist of logic, evolutionists often argue that if in their opinion, some organ or tissue in our body is “poorly designed” this reveals that there is no design or designer at all.

A favorite “poor design” among such folks is the inverted, or “upside down” retina found in all vertebrates.

The assumption is that if only vertebrates had properly designed eyes, we would see a lot better. In any event, it is now evolutionary dogma that no designer would have designed the inverted vertebrate retina.

Like “junk DNA” we would expect “junk retinas” from mindless and purposeless evolution but not from a competent designer.

It is true that no designer would position the retina of all vertebrates “upside down” with its photoreceptor cells facing away from the incoming light, unless there were good reasons for doing so – and there are!

This arrangement positions the metabolically demanding photoreceptors in contact with the rich blood supply in the choroid layer behind the retina.
You would not want this essentially opaque layer in front of the retina.

This means, however, that the photons of light coming into the eye must pass through layers of nerve fiber tracts as well as amacrine and glial cells to get to the photo receptor cells.
This would be a huge problem except for the Mueller cells that extend through the whole thickness of retina, and these cells are – wait for it – living fiber optics! Problem solved.”

Such forget the fall in Eden and its devistating effect on all creation continuing on down to our own day.

I’d like to see evolutionists design a better working eye. So far they haven’t even created a cell.

There is no order or purpose to the universe. A random asteroid could slam into this planet tomorrow and kill us all.

    Back to the eye Ava?

  5. C Cornell Hicks says:

Ava, you’re correct, it COULD, but so far, the little, well placed, planet in our solar system by the name of Jupiter seems to be doing a really good job of drawing those type of death asteroids to itself, so it won’t hit us…

    What now?

Also, Ava, did you know that lightning strike all over the earth like almost every second of the day?

However, according to the NOAA, over the last 20 years, the US has averaged about 51 fatalities due to lightning strikes. For the time space and considering how many times lightning strikes, that’s a really low number.

Well, did you know that each time lightning strikes, the power of the lightning is so strong that it infuses nitrates into water droplets? Did you know that nitrates are fertilizers and that in the water droplets they fall to the ground and fertilize vegetation all over the planet which is why the vegetation grows with NO ONE tending to it.

No human can have initiated lightning, the strikes or set it up to infuse nitrates.

Still think there’s no order it purpose to the universe?

If all the people in this group are fundamentalist Christians who think that Apologetics is about disproving theories of evolution, is there any room for a critical Catholic or for any other 21st century Christian?

I scrolled through this group’s timeline.
Duncan makes a false accusation ^

There is a great variety of posts here.
I found many important lessons on various apologetics easily.

He simply wants to silence the truth of this matter.
By all means, let him bring his case forward (OP).
I’d be more than happy to oblige him.
