In the bible OT, God tested Abraham. (Genesis 22:1). God told Abraham about a place in Moriah, where his only son, Isaac, was to be offered as a burnt offering. (Genesis 22:2).
Abraham had faith in God to return his only son after death (Hebrews 11:17-19), from his words to his servants (Genesis 22:5) and from his words to his only son (Genesis 22:8).
God showed Abraham the place for the burnt offering (Genesis 22:9) on Mount Moriah.
Abraham showed absolute faith in God’s covenant promise about Isaac (Genesis 17:19, 21), and God provided an animal to die in the place of Isaac (Genesis 22:12-13).
God showed Abraham a future event where he (God) will provide a substitute sacrifice, as Abraham named the place, “The LORD (Yahweh) will provide” (Genesis 22:14).
David established his city, the city of David, in Jerusalem, in the region of Moriah (2 Samuel 5:6-9).
God showed to David the place on Moriah for burnt offerings (1 Chronicles 21:15 -16, 18, 26 – 28). Solomon built the first temple on the site on Mount Moriah (2 Chronicles 3:1).
Many years later, around 30 AD, Jesus of Nazareth died by crucifixion outside the walls of Jerusalem, on Moriah, in sight of the second temple complex. (John 3:16)
