  2. Law Olivier says:

Correct one another with gentleness humbleness and kindness.

  3. John Maya Sr. says:

Quote scripture. I find applying the scripture to myself (knowing it speaks to their issue) gets the point across. For example if i see a brother or sister involved in a sinful behavior…..i talk to them and mention how I used to do this or that until I realized this scripture says not to etc. Ie, applying it to myself and letting the holy spirit speak and convict them.

  4. Macy Carolina says:

Does the average Christian have the right to call priests/preachers into question if need be?

  5. Tommy S. Hancock says:

Are “being judgmental” and “condemning” the same? What is bad, detrimental, undesireable behavior has to be made known. Can one claim to be a Christian and not correct behavior – Leviticus 19:17&18?

  6. John Maya Sr. says:

    2 Tim 4:2
Preach the word; be instant in season, out of season; reprove, rebuke, exhort with all longsuffering and doctrine.

  7. Simon Kiriba says:

I think being “judgemental” has been vilified to almost extinction by the post modern era of tolerance, personal distinctiveness and lack of absolutes. It is culturally impermissible to pass judgement because it goes against tolerance and would be appealing to some form or another of an objective standard.

That being said, you cannot live without passing judgement. In fact, accusing someone of being judgemental is in itself being judgemental. Calling out sin is judgement. Paul in his various letters to the churches was judging their conduct and calling it out. There are therefore parameters for passing judgement and acting on it.

What we are not allowed to do is to condemn. We cannot sit on God’s judgement seat and decide this one is not fit for forgiveness, this one is etc.

  8. Robert Pearce says:

1 Cor. 5:12-13 “What business is it of mine to judge those outside the church? Are you not to judge those inside? 13 God will judge those outside. “Expel the wicked person from among you.”

We are allowed to “judge” those inside the church. Now, this should be done in love, and follow the model of correction Jesus outlined in Mat. 18:15-20, but ultimately it should result in church discipline if the person desires to remain in sin.

  9. Mark James Paguntalan says:

Use the Word of God, don’t direct them that’s the proper way because they will use the word of God against you. Matthew 7:1

  10. Carlos Sotelo says:

Whoever told you that Christians are not to judge at all are illiterate and ignorant about the gospel.

  11. Austin Miles Laluna says:

Make them first understand the importance of correction ?

  12. Paul Brown says:

Are you so full of yourself? Do you think that you are better than the others?

    Yes?

Keep yourself humble. Think that other people are more important than yourself.

Humble yourself, and stay humble. Then, people won’t be judgmental about you, and you won’t have any problem keeping others accountable.

    ?

  13. Ian Grant Spong says:

If you are a faithful Christian, you will be accused. You can’t avoid it. Count it as a badge of approval from above.

  14. Stanley Seiti says:

The Bible doesn’t shy away from judgement like we do. We are told told to judge ourselves. Judge amongst ourselves. We are going to judge angels. The bible doesn’t shy away from judgement or judging. One another. Here’s a thing. When we judge other saints it’s not with the intention to condemn them. But as Paul teach, rebuke, correct…we are never to shy away those things. The one who doesn’t want tobe rebuked it’s to his detriment

  15. Rufus Peacock says:

The Bible says to judge righteously.

  16. David Maggs says:

you will always be accused of being judgemental, people who say that are judging you and so being hypocrites.

  17. Randy Steinke says:

You can’t. That’s the point. Be brave!
Now I pray to God that ye do no evil; not that we should appear approved, but that ye should do that which is honest, though we be as reprobates

  18. Nelson Rhyno says:

Live The Scriptures Before Them .

  19. Ian Grant Spong says:

If you’re persecuted for righteousness’ sake, then you are living the scriptures before them.

  20. Aaron Jones says:

Christian’s aren’t judging anyone or anything. We are simply relaying the message regarding judgements that God has already made.

If the Word of God offends, it shows a love for sin within.

  21. Vic Cooper says:

I just share what I’ve experienced, and leave it to them to take it or leave it.

If someone gives me a viewpoint I’ll consider it.

    BUT,
if one gets to the point where they try to force their views, that person likely is just a carnal, biblical legalist. And I don’t lend an ear to ANY of it.?

  22. Dorian Saunders says:

Quote scripture in context, that is directly connected to their behavior.

  23. Jb Calipes Balnaja says:

If they really are Christians, then they should know the meaning of accountability. The doctrine of Sanctification is very clear in that area, no gray area there because the Holy Spirit will constantly remind them.

  24. William Garcia says:

Discernment and judgement are two very different things.

  25. Tom Royal says:

Well, I’ve found that we must be willing to accept criticism and correction from others without getting angry. That definitely includes me! I am sometimes proud and stubborn so I need to be understanding and willing learn. I also take it to mean that the person correcting me must have no agenda and a loving spirit.

  26. Donny L Pace says:

It’s not up to us to hold others accountable

  27. Theron Bird says:

The best way is to not point at an individual themselves… ever. Point to the doctrine, point to the intent behind the comment. Never use the name of the individual, and respond with scripture.

Remember the issue isn’t with the individual it’s with the idea…

Destroy their intent – and you’ve destroyed the idea… that is sufficient.

  28. Zach Payne says:

Keeping other Christians accountable is the right way to judge. We are to judge our brothers and sisters in Christ with love and truth. The problem is alot of the times when people judge it is hypocritically. They judge someone for their sin while they still have a big sin they’re dealing with. You can only judge a brother helpfully when you gave overcome that sin yourself.

  29. Alvin Servaña says:

Biblical warrant and basis of the accountability.

  30. Doreen Heintschel says:

First you have to determine if you’re dealing with people who are Christian’s. Usually when you approach a brother or sister in Christ they wont accuse you of being judgmental. It’s the unbelievers who love to abuse that scripture with no understanding of it’s TRUE meaning.

  31. Nathan Hoffman says:

Don’t judge someone you don’t have authority over. But if you have something against them, bring it to their attention before bringing it to the authorities.

  32. Keith A. Smith says:

Be accused of whatever, we’re called to keep each accountable. With love but with truth. First one on one, then as a group, then with a clergy member if necesary. If none of that works, then treat them like they are not one of the family anymore. Meaning, pray for them, invite them to church, fellowship with them like you would with someone who doesn’t know God.

  33. Zack Brown says:

“All Scripture is inspired by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, for training in righteousness;”

  34. James Clark says:

try to do a study in the word with them, let them know if conflict comes up that your not signaling them out but that your trying to hold them accountable and you ask of them to do the same with you.

  35. Lukas Dohnal says:

The one who love you the most will tell you the most truth (Paul Washer) if someone does not understand this he, or she, will always accuse you being judgmental. It is the pride that says “you are judgmental” the pride ?

  36. Patrick Boren says:

Good question. I suppose you have to turn them over to the enemy as Paul did.

  37. Rick Parham says:

say the truth in love to them, make sure we r accountable too

  38. Dwight Metz says:

A wise man loves correction and a fool can’t stand it. That’s a paraphrase from the old testament.

You’ll be called judgmental but we are to let other Christians know what God’s word says. It is God in his word judging them, not us. Going beyond that and thinking or feeling different about them in our heart that is judgment and God says not to do that.

  39. Sean Conley says:

The majority of today’s “decision for Christ Christians ” have never bothered to study the Pauline epistles. So what do you expect ?

  40. Mary Sova Lefler says:

God will make people accountable not our job

  41. Kenyi Clement says:

    By teachings

  42. Daniel Marvin says:

Can you give us an example? Accountable to “what standard”?

  43. Romualdo Venturanza says:

Let’s get the proper interpretation of Jesus when He admonished us “to judge not lest ye be judged.” Let’s continue Matt.7, v. 1 to:
“2] For with what judgment ye judge, ye shall be judged: and with what measure ye mete, it shall be measured to you again.
[3] And why beholdest thou the mote that is in thy brother’s eye, but considerest not the beam that is in thine own eye?
[4] Or how wilt thou say to thy brother, Let me pull out the mote out of thine eye; and, behold, a beam is in thine own eye?
[5] Thou hypocrite, first cast out the beam out of thine own eye; and then shalt thou see clearly to cast out the mote out of thy brother’s eye.”

  44. Ian Grant Spong says:

We need to continue reading in Matthew 7 to get the whole story. Verse 6 “Do not give dogs what is sacred; do not throw your pearls to pigs. If you do, they may trample them under their feet, and turn and tear you to pieces.” So we must judge who is a “dog” or a “swine” who will trample our pearls underfoot or tear us apart. Verses 15-16 “Watch out for false prophets. They come to you in sheep’s clothing, but inwardly they are ferocious wolves. By their fruit you will recognize them.” And, we must judge who is a false prophet.

Is this contradictory? No! Earlier Jesus refers to a critical spirit, judgmentalism. Later Jesus refers to discernment, righteous judgment. Non-judgmentalism does not mean a Pollyanna naivety regarding sin. What is does mean is joining Jesus who did not come to condemn sinners, but to save sinners from sin.

  45. Joy Sinnathamby says:

    Read 1 and 2 Corinthians 50 times…

  46. Barbara M Normandin says:

Be a friend love them pray for them.Like Rick said so well truth in love.

  47. Gregory Szczygiel says:

Give them scripture that shows why they are wrong and most importantly, forgive them. For if you do not forgive men their trespasses, neither will the Heavenly father for give you your trespasses. Remember Jesus died on a cross forgiving them who put him there.

  48. Bobby Michaels says:

Who cares if you are accused of being judgemental. Keep the beam out of your eye so you can help your brothers and sisters keep the splinters out of theirs.

  49. Victoria Mathews says:

Consider the possibility that people who perceived sound doctrine as “judge mental” really have no desire to change. People who desire change will accept accountability because their desire will be to be please God. Some people are not going to be happy with instruction and some will later come to the knowledge of our Lord. Say what you need to say in love and pray for God to open their eyes.
