Never Read a Bible Verse

If there was one bit of wisdom, one rule of thumb, one single skill I could impart, one useful tip I could leave that would serve you well the rest of your life, what would it be? What is the single most important practical skill I’ve ever learned as a Christian?

Here it is: Never read a Bible verse. That’s right, never read a Bible verse. Instead, always read a paragraph at least.

This simple advice will help you answer tricky questions about what the Bible says.

As a disciple of Christ, I recommend reading the whole thing. It has only increased my love for Christ, shown me the heights of His majesty, the depth of His love, and the holiness of God.

C.s.lewis like many atheist read it in an attempt to discredit .He like many sincere truth seeking people became a Christian. Taking portions out of context and especially ignoring historical relevance of world history around the context is foolish.

Such great advice! NEVER! NEVER! NEVER!!!
There is so much bad theology in every denomination because most (including preacher and teachers) do NOT follow this one piece of advice!

So true…..but there’s more……when studying a topic, read every single scripture that talks about that subject, ensuring you read the pretext and get the correct context. We MUST allow scripture to interpret scripture or we will loose our way theologically and stray from the Truth. In Timothy it says, “guard your doctrine, in doing so you will not only save yourself, but others too’.
    Thank you for posting this.
