Salvation can’t be lost or forfeited or….
The vine and the branches in John 15 says otherwise
Plenty of verses say otherwise
Hebrews 10:26
Back it up with Scripture that deals with our salvation being unconditional
Please provide chapter and verse showing someone ACTUALLY losing their salvation
If you could lose your salvation there would be bible verses on getting saved a second and third time. If it were possible to lose your salvation, the writers of the bible would certainly tell us you can be born again..again…..and again and again…
1cor1:He will also keep you firm to the end, so that you will be blameless on the day of our Lord Jesus Christ. 9God is faithful, who has called you into fellowship with his Son, Jesus Christ our Lord.
No one can snatch, not even you yourself.
John 10:27My sheep listen to my voice; I know them, and they follow me. 28I give them eternal life, and they shall never perish; no one will snatch them out of my hand. 29My Father, who has given them to me, is greater than all c ; no one can snatch them out of my Father’s hand. 30I and the Father are one.”
I remember a brother who is born again by God grace before these brother got backslide a reveration came about him not up to a week that Same brother got backslide. Salvation has already lost .
Have we heard of the No True Scotsman fallacy?
Philosopher Antony Flew, in his 1975 book ‘Thinking About Thinking’ he wrote:
Imagine some Scottish chauvinist settled down one Sunday morning with his customary copy of The News of the World. He reads the story under the headline, ‘Sidcup Sex Maniac Strikes Again’. Our reader is, as he confidently expected, agreeably shocked: ‘No Scot would do such a thing!’ Yet the very next Sunday he finds in that same favourite source a report of the even more scandalous on-goings of Mr Angus McSporran in Aberdeen. This clearly constitutes a counter example, which definitively falsifies the universal proposition originally put forward. (‘Falsifies’ here is, of course, simply the opposite of ‘verifies’; and it therefore means ‘shows to be false’.) Allowing that this is indeed such a counter example, he ought to withdraw; retreating perhaps to a rather weaker claim about most or some. But even an imaginary Scot is, like the rest of us, human; and none of us always does what we ought to do. So what he is in fact saying is: ‘No true Scotsman would do such a thing!’
This seems to me to be the same. If he fell away from Christianity it can only be because he was never a True Christian!
Only you can cause the loss of your salvation.
“Lose salvation” is an oxymoron
How about Ananias and Saphira in Acts 5. They were both members of the church, they lied bec of greediness and they died almost instantly..
Your choice to believe the word of God or not. The consequences will be shown at the judgement.
I don’t understand this but there are lots of people who believe you can lose your salvation. But how?
If you can’t do anything to get salvation and none of us deserve it, how in the world could the keeping of salvation be something you do?
Yes, I believe someone CAN lose their salvation. Example, there are a number of former pastors who are now atheists. Anyone can google them out and find out their names and do research on them. Now SOME will insist that if someone walks from God, then that person was never saved to begin with. I’m not that arrogant or insulting to anyone. Here’s my example that I believe to be compelling. I moved out to the country a couple years back. When I got here, there was a dead fruit tree in my front yard that hadn’t fallen over yet, but it was clearly dead. I cut it down for safety since I have a 9 year old that loves to play. Now, I CAN legitimately say that since I’ve been here, that tree hasn’t produced ANY fruit at all. But I wasn’t here when the tree was planted. Do I know beyond any doubt that this same dead tree that I cut down NEVER produced any fruit just because it’s not only not appealing to me anymore, but it was actually a danger so I cut it down?? I have NO evidence to prove or even vainly assert that this same tree NEVER produced any good fruit. For all I know, the people who lived here before could’ve actually made some money selling this fruit or even just giving it away. YET, I come along in all my “wisdom” and start telling everyone that this tree not only never produced ANY fruit, but that, hey it’s not really a tree in the first place. Seriously?? Yet countless “believers” are arrogant enough to say “that person was never saved”. Well, they will definitely and legitimately point out the verses about knowing someone is a child of God based on the fruit they produce. While they’re correct in their referencing, they’re absolutely wrong in their grotesque assumption to know if someone was ever a Christian in the first place just because they don’t agree or like what they hear this person did or is thinking of doing of whatever. It’s disgusting to push this agenda and extremely dangerous. The ONLY one who knows if someone was ever saved to begin with is God. Since the majority of believers CAN agree that the fall of man took place in the garden because of man’s desire to be “like God” and they agree with God’s judgement, then how is it that believers TODAY try to be “like God” and claim to know something that only God will ever know. You want to judge by fruit?? Go ahead, but let’s make sure the standard is uniform and that what you may dismiss as fruit (maybe because you don’t like that the subject is professing to be a believer) is actually fruit, regardless of how far in the past it was produced. JMHO.
OP, can you PM with the other group so I can see if I’m in that group or not? I’d love to take part in that debate too.
It may be ‘no specific bible verses to show losing salvation’ but still there can be a person who can lost his/her salvation’ as trinity while there is no mentioned in the bible.
