  1. Johan Coetser says:

    Romans 16:1-2
[1]NOW I introduce and commend to you our sister Phoebe, a deaconess of the church at Cenchreae,
[2]That you may receive her in the Lord [with a Christian welcome], as saints (God’s people) ought to receive one another. And help her in whatever matter she may require assistance from you, for she has been a helper of many including myself [shielding us from suffering].

    1 Timothy 2:9-12
[9]Also [I desire] that women should adorn themselves modestly and appropriately and sensibly in seemly apparel, not with [elaborate] hair arrangement or gold or pearls or expensive clothing,
[10]But by doing good deeds (deeds in themselves good and for the good and advantage of those contacted by them), as befits women who profess reverential fear for and devotion to God.
[11]Let a woman learn in quietness, in entire submissiveness.
[12]I allow no woman to teach or to have authority over men; she is to remain in quietness and keep silence [in religious assemblies].

    1 Corinthians 14:34-35
[34]The women should keep quiet in the churches, for they are not authorized to speak, but should take a secondary and subordinate place, just as the Law also says. [Gen. 3:16.]
[35]But if there is anything they want to learn, they should ask their own husbands at home, for it is disgraceful for a woman to talk in church [for her to usurp and exercise authority over men in the church].

  2. Jo Kothenbeutel says:

Phobe was not a female deacon.

  3. Jo Kothenbeutel says:

She was a servant of a Church. Not a deaconess.

    Romans 16:1-2

16 I commend unto you Phebe our sister, which is a servant of the church which is at Cenchrea:

2 That ye receive her in the Lord, as becometh saints, and that ye assist her in whatsoever business she hath need of you: for she hath been a succourer of many, and of myself also.

  4. Jennifer A Epps says:

I believe there is a place for a deaconess but it should be held for a lady that can devote time and resources (doesn’t have a household and children to care for) to minister to the other *ladies and children* of the church

  5. Johan Coetser says:

    Philippians 1:1
[1]PAUL AND Timothy, bond servants of Christ Jesus (the Messiah), to all the saints (God’s consecrated people) in Christ Jesus who are at Philippi, with the bishops (overseers) and deacons (assistants):.

Please understand ,that why i added other verses to clarify.

By no means did i mean as a pastor of any church,no woman is allowed to teach the men in church (as i showed in those verses.

However they are allowed to assist or aid.but not teach.
As by doing so she dishonours her head(husband) and it would also be contradictory to biblical teaching
