This is a question that was presented to my class by the professor, which we all discussed, I’m curious to read your thoughts:
“Did God, who is all knowing, set us up for failure?”

***If it helps, we moved on to discuss creation. Specifically, Adam and Eve, God creating them, them disobeying. But the question was generally speaking, from what I had gathered.
I can see where people might tbink tbat way. It comws down to the nature of God and what its was as a goal for goal with creation. Those are the questions I see that would give the anwser. God is love but he is also just. He would have made isomers the animal with not spiritual free choice but he didn’t. Why? Is free choice a blessing or a curse. Was God looking for beings who had no Chou e but were us mechanically motives. HEe did not do that. He made us different a d that was a great risk but he took it anyway. Why? Any human speculation would be meaningless I would think. He would ha e to tell us if we were to know for sure. Does he?
No, God is Love and Love always wants the Best for All
This is a poorly worded question on your professors part(and I’m assuming intentionally vague) What does your professor mean by failure?
A BIG NO. See your life as One Whole Story. Just because you do some mistakes/miscalculations, doesn’t mean you are a failure. If you are sure that you are God’s child, and have accepted Him, be assured that things will change. And your whole life will be a Success – nothing less. Only Condition: You should be sure that you are God’s child, and you have accepted His Will for your life. Because God’s Will for His Children never fails. NEVER. EVER.?
He set us up to succeed but made it possible for some to reject success freely.
We have to understand that God is not human. He is not like us and does not think like us. We get way to far in thinking God is this person and we basically make Him into a robot. We can’t bring God down to our level of knowledge nor think like we do towards other people. God is all knowing, all loving, all in all. He is the creator and we are people who need a creator. God saw that His creation was good but evil still intervened. We sinned against God in a way that He who is all knowing and just couldn’t snap a finger and recreate us. He new that he needed to cleanse us of all unrighteousness but He had no other way of doing so. God who is loving and perfect and graceful gave His one and only Son to voluntarily sacrifice Himself for us to be reconciled with a just God who couldn’t let us get away from His wrath. Jesus took and bared a painful death so that we may be one with God in heaven. I don’t see that God set us up for failure, but that God set us up for success in having eternal life through Christ Jesus our Lord. Only if we acknowledge that we need a savior.
The question assumes failure without stating what that is defined as.
I think that it is possible that either we fail or we don’t get created.
1. What is failure? It looks different for each person.
2. It tries to place God into the worlds understanding instead of the world into his.
It is like saying God made us and cruelly see us suffer. It is the blame God mentality which Satan wants us to believe. If God wants us all to fail, he would’ve ended Adam and Eve since creation. However he didn’t and find ways to salvage his creation thru Messiah. Even Jesus choose the hard path to die for us on the cross when he could easily say no. There is love there like how mother/father would die for his/her child. It is something a lot of non-believe never care about and always take the easy path by blaming God.
The earth and all that is in it is born of and into corruption …. for with the fall in the Garden of Eden, of which man kind was driven out of …. so has it been, “goodly” or “beastly” …. but the answer you seek is found herein …. regarding corruption, and how we are delivered from such …. so that whosoever comes to Him …. may be adopted …. to be included in the family of God – “There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit.

Why did God create and why didn’t God simply destroy Lucifer…did God set us up for failure?
God the Father, for some unknown reason, truly desires a loving and honest relationship with His created beings and in order for love and relationship to manifest in purity with authenticity, those involved in that relationship must possess the free will to choose to love or hate, honor or dishonor, they must possess the free will to pursue that relationship or reject it; if the participants are programmed or coerced to comply…love and relationship become impotent because love cannot be realized by force or coercion nor can love be realized in fear.
If God the Father had simply destroyed Lucifer and the rebellious angels that followed Lucifer in His coup de taut, the unfathomable number of faithful angels that remained would no longer love God out of free will/volition but out of fear; again, true love and relationship cannot exist or be realized in an atmosphere of fear; therefore, the Scriptures tells us that before the beginning of Time (2 Timothy 1:10), God the Father ordained that the Gospel would be the method by which He would deal with Lucifer and the rebellious angels while maintaining volitional love with His faithful angelic creation.
The Holy Spirit tells us that God the Father commissioned the Son, Jesus Christ (John 3:35), to take elements from the unseen Spiritual World (Hebrews 11:3) and fashion those elements into matter that can be apprehended by life constrained by Time and physics. Our Creator, Jesus Christ, proceeded, with rapidity, to create Time, the Universe, Earth, the human genome (Colossians 1:15-18; John 1; Genesis 1) and God the Father then placed Lucifer on the Earth and within Eden (the Garden of God) (Ezekiel 28:11-17). This was done in order to remove from the Kingdom the destructive sin introduced by Lucifer into the Kingdom through rebellion and deal with that sin apart from the Kingdom and within the constraints of Time.
Lucifer was successful in tempting Eve to compromise with evil and Eve was successful in tempting her husband, Adam, to compromise with evil and this began the war between Lucifer v. Yeshua as articulated by the Spirit in Genesis 3:14-15; in fact, the Holy Spirit tells us that the primary reason the Son of God, Jesus Christ, entered Time was to defeat the works of the Devil (1 John 3:8b). Lucifer was essentially defeated by Yeshua at the Crucifixion some 4000-years subsequent to Genesis 3:14-15 but that struggle continues and can be seen today between the spiritual and physical armies of Allah-Satan/Islam v. Yeshua-the Christian-the Jew/Israel.
The spiritual warfare that surrounds us, the death and carnage caused by Satan and SIN is demonstrating to the faithful angels in the Kingdom why God the Father extricated the sin of Lucifer from the Kingdom and why sin cannot be tolerated and why SIN can NEVER enter the Kingdom of God (Revelation 21:27). The Holy Spirit explains that at the end of the Millennial Reign of Messiah-Yeshua, the faithful angels in Heaven will fully concur with God the Father that Satan and the fallen angels (demons) do deserve punishment in Hell forever (Revelation 20:10).
God the Father through the Son, Jesus Christ, will have demonstrated His incredible love for His created beings, both angelic and human, by having given Himself as a sacrifice for sin; it is through selfless love and sacrifice for those He loves that God will maintain volitional love with His faithful angels that He has cherished from Eternity past; mankind, that has trusted in what Jesus Christ has done on the Cross of suffering, will also enjoy the love and fellowship of God forever in the Kingdom.
In the beginning of men . Sin came to life of men , from there on we were set for failure but God was setting everything for Victory through out the OT, showing us men that the sin is in our heart ,but God had a plan ,He set everything for victory in the cross of Jesus Christ over sin . Thanks to the Lord’s Grace and Mercy .
In order for you to have perfect free-will, you must be given the option to intentionally make errors.
This is how we know that Satan and angels and other spirit being possess free will, otherwise they would never have fallen from Heaven.
If the ‘Tree of Knowledge of Good and Evil’ never existed, Adam would not have had the option to intentionally make an error. It was the only commandment that existed at the time. Don’t eat from that tree. With no ability to do wrong, your obedience is forced rather than willing.
So the fall for Satan from Heaven and the fall of man was an inevitable byproduct of God granting his highest creations free-will, rather than direct or intentional cause.
God created us to live in a love relationship with him. When Adam and Eve sinned they shattered the level of intimacy experienced in the garden. God gave us the freedom to love.
Anything else would be a mechanical response to Him. So, no the Creator did not set us up to fail. He gave us an opportunity to live in an everlasting love relationship and humanity spurned Him. Praise God that He restores the possibility of such intimacy with Him through the work of Christ on the Cross! ?
God set us up with a choice:. Life or wisdom.
In the garden, they chose wisdom over life.
It is the same today.
Wisdom always comes first.
People won’t seek life until their dead.
It is us who set God up for failure, because we humans are not all knowing. But thanks to God, He is always there to help us, making us successful, only if we take His help. ?
I kinda think of Gods wisdom like string theory. He knows the consiquence of every decision we ever made and will ever make, and the ripple effects from them

Death and sin into the world, and used it to get Him a people who freely chose to be with Him. Think about it- if Adam/ Eve never sinned, the world would be perfect! What choice is there in a perfect world? God is wiser than we could ever hope to know
No, He set us up for victory that we may be restored through His son and that we may know the love of our Father. He desires that all would be saved.
The Scriptures declare the Christ was slain from the foundation of the world. So, deductive reasoning can bring us to the conclusion that….
Yes, God designed the fall for His purpose and plan.
