  32. Nicholas Garrett says:

No. We should study his work. When I choose somebody to study I try to read their work in chronological order because most peoples views change as they change. I am also able to avoid using historical figures to make my points. I am sure that every prominent Christian in the past will be rolling in their graves at how quotes of theirs are taken out of context. I do it too I think it’s just part of the way we communicate. What do you mean or intend by “follow?” If you mean should we follow him out of the ideology of the Roman Catholicism of his time, then the answer is absolutely yes. If follow means “ abide by his interpretation of doctrine only as a source of objective truth,” I think we’d be in trouble. To be fair we would be in trouble if we followed anybody that way

  33. Sally Barron says:

Why don’t we just ignore everyone who wasn’t perfect, of course that means except for those words written in red we’ll have to get rid of the whole Bible, and ignore every theologian who’s ever lived as well.. Martin Luther was a flawed human being, who did some great things. I don’t know anyone who “follows” him, any more than they follow Billy Graham or Paul or anyone else, but don’t ignore the good they do because they’re human and therefore flawed

  34. Wyatt McIntyre says:

As a Lutheran I would say no, we should follow Jesus and the Scriptures. We can take the good of Luther, while remembering he was never divinely inspired. I subscribe to the Lutheran Confessions, for example, but I would never place them on the same level as the Bible. As a man Luther had good and bad, and was a product of his time, some of that does not translate well.

  35. Lukas Dohnal says:

We can learn from him some things, that is biblical concept to learn from elders “Follow the pattern of the sound words that you have heard from me, in the faith and love that are in Christ Jesus.”
‭‭2 Timothy‬ ‭1:13‬ But to follow ? NO. That is directly against the Bible “What I mean is that each one of you says, “I follow Paul,” or “I follow Apollos,” or “I follow Cephas,” or “I follow Christ.” Is Christ divided? Was Paul crucified for you? Or were you baptized in the name of Paul?”
    ‭‭1 Corinthians‬ ‭1:12-13‬ ‭ESV‬‬

Luther is not Jesus. Luther didn’t die on the crossdollow the One who died for you in whatever denomination you are. Don’t be in a church that promotes the founder and places him or her as equal to God and Jesus.

  43. Arg Rosanto Aborita says:

Reformation led by the Reformist Martin Luther because of scriptures and for the sake of Faith in God and the scriptures of God.
It is an understanding that we should follow things of what the Reformist followed. By Grace alone through Faith alone in Christ alone to Glory of God alone.

  44. Garry Wienhurst says:

    WE did follow him. LOL!

    Where is he going? ?

  47. Abraham Mathew says:

dont follow any human.. because every person had their own struggles and flaws in their life.. no human is perfect… not even one… one and only who is perfect is CHRIST. unblemished perfect one to follow… if we follows any leader other than CHRIST, through out our life we would be just stuggling giving justification to others and competitors for the errors and mistakes they have committed centuries back….

That might be the silliest comment ever.

Martin Luther said that people should not be called Lutherans.

However, if the man speaks truth then you follow the truth.

When Calvin speaks truth, follow it.

When Luther speaks truth, follow it.

When I speak truth, follow the truth.

  58. Timothy Oliver says:

    He’s dead

    It’s not a legitimate question.

  67. Maxwell Cast says:

    Follow Jesus not Martin

  68. Christian Le says:

No to Luther but yes to Christ the Master. For He said, “Come and follow me, and I will transform you into men who catch people for God” (Matthew‬ ‭4:19‬ ‭TPT‬).

  69. Jay Zeke Malakai says:

Only as far as we should follow any other man. “Imitate me AS I IMITATE CHRIST”. Luther was a flawed, yet faithful man. Knowledgeable, capable, sinful. He had a few crazy views, just like us. He had some good points too. When he’s right, agree with him because he’s right. When he’s wrong, reject him because he’s wrong. At the end of the day, let Luther be Luther, let you be you, and let Christ be Christ. Christ is the one you should follow.

  70. Rick Holtsclaw says:

Follow Christ by the Holy Spirit and you’ll be fine.

1 co 1:11My brothers and sisters, some from Chloe’s household have informed me that there are quarrels among you. 12What I mean is this: One of you says, “I follow Paul”; another, “I follow Apollos”; another, “I follow Cephas b ”; still another, “I follow Christ.”

13Is Christ divided? Was Paul crucified for you? Were you baptized in the name of Paul? 14I thank God that I did not baptize any of you except Crispus and Gaius, 15so no one can say that you were baptized in my name.

  94. Miche Strole says:

his comentary on Galatians is superb and of course the book named Bondage of the free will . But in regard to his anit sionism and jew hatering he is not a role model, and in regard of pedo baptism he is not a good mentor eather. Christ must come first .. With the spirit of Berean you can easely disern just by comparing wats writen in Gods word. this dosent mean you aught to rebuke ewerything he did. He was a tool to God to revive the the old apostolic teachings and to expose the hoaxes of papasy and rome.. To value wat we have today more its good to knove wat and how saints in the past had to sacrifise so that we could have wat we have today.. I would recomend John Fox the book of Marthyrs wich is a cronicle dealing with the true belivers and Jesus deciples through history. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=24EuMkX8Z44

  100. Mike Walker says:

    No….. Follow Jesus….

  101. Kenjup Hanapiri Dsp says:

Luther did not want to start a church under his name. He just was against the teaching of the Catholic Church at that time that was contrary to the Bible.
One of his strong belief was scripture, faith, belief, christ alone. And living by faith. Luther did not want any praise. Lutherans do not venerate Luther in any way. He was nothing. ONLY CHRIST.
