Diverse weights are an abomination to the LORD,
And dishonest scales are not good.

Proverbs 20:23

From the home to the largest nation in the world, there has to be a consistent standard of some type if civilization is to thrive.

Twelve inches has to be same everywhere if we are to build.

A mile has to be the same everywhere if we are to measure distance.

And a minute has to be the same from coast to coast if we are to synchronize our calendars and clocks.

The same is true with the “soft” numbers as well.

It would serve you better to be consistently mean than to be nice one day and then mean the next. At least people could plan accordingly and know how to handle you when you walked in a room.

The ONE THING for today: The people you live and work with daily are not called to be your therapist or punching bag. They have their problem too. Be moody privately. For your public life, put your game face on and consistently show up and do what is best for the greater good.
