Resigned or Waiting?
“When the day comes, I’ll be waiting.”
God is in the midst of her, she shall not be moved;
God shall help her, just at the break of dawn.
Psalms 46:5
I often hear people say, “I’m waiting on God” and often what they really mean is that they have concluded that there is nothing they can do. So they have to wait on God. However, that is not really waiting, that is resignation.
There is a difference between being at a crossroads and waiting until you have clearer guidance and arriving at a dead end with no way possible to move forward.
God is clearly a God of waiting, but He is not a God of dead ends.
What you perceive as a dead end is God’s invitation to stop something and go in another direction. When He brings you to a crossroad it is His way of giving you a choice.
Bottom line, it’s what you do while waiting that will make the difference in God’s next chapter for your life.
The ONE THING for today: Be vigilant while you’re waiting! God has stopped you for a season for a reason—there is something to do where you’re at and there is something to learn…while you’re waiting.
