On the cultural front, Minneapolis continues to inspire protest songs, with artists like Billy Bragg sharing their perspectives. Meanwhile, President Trump’s nomination of Kevin Warsh to head the Federal Reserve has calmed markets, potentially charting a new course for the central bank. And in 962, Pope John XII crowned Otto I as Emperor of the Holy Roman Empire, a few years after the birth of Gershom ben Judah, who would become known as Rabbeinu Gershom Me’Or Hagolah, ‘Our teacher Gershom the light of the exile,’ and establish Mainz as a prominent center of Talmudic learning.
