Good evening, and welcome to #ourCOG Daily Brief for November 3, 2026.
Today, the U.S. is focused on Election Day, with midterms determining control of Congress, key governorships, and statehouses across the country. Meanwhile, analysts in Washington suggest that after eight months of devastating conflict, Iran may now be more inclined to pursue a nuclear weapon as a deterrent. Closer to home, Southern California beach towns are grappling with significant sand erosion, threatening their identity, tourism, and infrastructure, while in Michigan, a bitter Democratic primary rivalry has reignited just days before the election. On the global stage, the Israeli-Palestinian conflict continues to test the limits of free speech for artists, and Germany’s once-dominant auto industry is finding itself falling behind competitors in the electric vehicle race. For a broader look at worldwide events, be sure to check out our “Our World” weekly roundup.
In our video lineup, we’ve been exploring important topics such as “Hours After the Wedding, My Wife Said This,” prompting discussions around covenant and marriage, asking “Are You Comfortable Living in Dysfunction?”, and a powerful reminder that “Nobody Can Come to God for You.”
From our FaithNews RSS feed, we’re looking forward to Lee University hosting Celebration 2026 and Homecoming this November 5th through 7th. Hillsong Worship is set to release new live songs on October 23rd, Great American Media has launched Pure Flix Familia, and a new initiative is seeking to benefit Native American Ministries.
Turning to prophecy news, we’re following several significant developments. The Archbishop of Vienna has voiced support for the ordination of women, though he deems it currently unrealistic. Russia’s Starlink rival, Rassvet, reportedly lost a second satellite after it sat idle for over 100 days. In Poland, chaos erupted as globalist forces allegedly attempted a coup on the eve of a major religious festival. Also, new reports surfaced connecting Abdul El-Sayed’s father to an Islamic charity allegedly tied to the Muslim Brotherhood, and former President Trump’s push to remove Rep. Ilhan Omar from office is poised to face a historic Supreme Court test.
Finally, in Jewish history, this November 3rd marks several notable events. In 166 BCE, Mattathias ben Yochanan passed away. Fast forward to 361 CE, Roman Emperor Constantius II, known for enhancing anti-Jewish policies, died. Under his rule, converting to Judaism was penalized with economic ruin and even became a capital offense, prohibiting Jews from marrying or converting Christian women, and freeing Christian slaves owned by Jews. Contrastingly, in 644 CE, Umar, the “2nd Caliph of the Rashidun Caliphate,” who visited Jerusalem in 637 CE, changed the Byzantine policy and actively encouraged Jews to return to the city.
That’s your #ourCOG Daily Brief for November 3, 2026. Good night, and we’ll see you tomorrow.
