Does anyone know about the Church of God Benefits Board? It is a separate facilities from the General Headquarters buildings. It has annual receipts in excess of three million dollars and has 10 employees.

They manage minister’s retirement plans however are there other functions and who are the board members?

The Benefits Board manages a retirement plan for Church of God Cleveland, TN ministers and church workers. This 403b plan has grown through strong leadership.

  2. Greetings from the Church of God Benefits Board. I am Art Rhodes and I have the honor of serving as the President/CEO of the Board.

The board is a separate entity set up to manage the Ministers’ Retirement Plan, a 403(b)(9) Church Retirement Plan that is available to all Church of God ministers and church related employees.

We currently serve over 5400 participants and have over $366 million in AUM.

Since 1994, the pension assets of ministers and employees in the Church of God have been separated from the denominational headquarters for the protection of both the participants and the church.

The Board is affiliated with the Church of God and is a Texas incorporated non-profit entity. The Board is governed by a Board of Director’s composed of the following members currently:
    Dr. Mark Walker
    Dr. Kirk Walters
    Dennis Watkins, Esq.
    Rep Christian Coomer, Esq.
    Dudley Pyeatt
    J. T. Jones
    Dr. John Childers
    Kevin McGlamery

The board has 6 employees including myself, all operating out of our corporate offices located at 4605 North Ocoee Street, Cleveland, TN.

We emphasize our efforts to provide superior returns to our participants in the defined contribution pension plan. Our costs are also low and our “all in” expense ratio is projected to be 60 bases points in 2018.

More information on the board can be found on our website at http://www.benefitsboard.com.

In addition, I would welcome the opportunity to answer any other questions you might have. Just give me a call at (423) 478-7131 or toll free at (877) 478-7190. Blessings, Art Rhodes
