“Can you fathom the mysteries of God? Can you probe the limits of the Almighty? 8 They are higher than the heavens–what can you do? They are deeper than the depths of the grave–what can you know?” – Job 11:7-8
This week, I had the privilege of traveling to Augusta, Georgia with some of my fellow LifePointe Church staff members. I have seen God do amazing things in our hearts, as well as the hearts of other listeners.
We have listened to Jonathan Martin (Pastor of Renovatus Church in North Carolina), Travis Johnson (Pastor of Life Pointe Church in Florida), Bill Isaacs (Ohio Church of God State Overseer), a live video from Craig Groeschel (Pastor of LifeChurch.tv), Marty Baker (Pastor of Stevens Creek Church), and many more.
Talk about refreshing! God has been speaking to me a lot this week about things for our Student Ministry, our leadership team, and for myself personally. We have listened to seasoned preachers pour their hearts out to us about everything in the book. We have worshipped, raised our hands in surrender, stood as a declaration to God’s calling for us, and much more. All of that is great. Please understand me here. I love all of that, but for me personally, all week long, there has been one word that God has been dealing with me about this entire week. A word that means a lot to me. A word that sinks deep within my spirit. That word is: MORE.
God is wanting to do more at Restoration Student Ministries. God is wanting to do more at LifePointe Church (formerly Alberta Church of God). God is wanting to do more in my marriage. God is wanting to do more in my life.
Our society today tells us to give up…and sadly, we listen. I have seen too many friends give in to worldly desires that it takes them further than they want to go. I have seen too many pastors divorce their spouses due to “it’s too hard” excuse after excuse. But, I can tell you one thing, and that one thing is this: I will be different. As for me and my house, we will serve The Lord!
I have been told that I’m too young to be in ministry. I was told that I would never be good enough. I was told that I will one day get a divorce just like a bunch of my family. And I have also been told that I would give up on God all together one day, just because Mother Nature will always have her way. Well, all I have to say is that if God took a shepherd boy and turned him into a great King, God can do it for me. If God took a baby boy to send here on Earth to take on the struggle of man and take everything even to the point of death on a Cross, God WILL do it for me!
Whatever it is you are going through today, keep going! You might be on your last limb, but what you don’t know is that last limb was designed by God Himself to show you how to become stronger.
This isn’t a usual blog that I do, but I believe when Scripture says that we are made overcomers by the blood of the Lamb and the word of our testimony. This is a part of my testimony. You might be young…wanting to start a church…called ignorant because you are following God’s will for your life…your mission is marked as impossible to everyone’s eyes, but we serve a God who is for us. That is the greatest feeling you will ever know. If God is for you, who can be against? God is wanting to do MORE in you! More in your church. More in your marriage. MORE!
