good question! It started back with Trump’s presidency. Jackie and Cheryl Johns of the Theological Seminary hastily formed a “support group” for students who were “anxious” about the “deportation of illegal immigrants” and the ban on Muslim countries where the extremist, “terrorist” Muslim radicals were coming from.
They were reporting many students were fearful of deportation; many afraid for their parents back home. The ensuing FB communications began relating this to Trump’s policies on deportation. Other Lee U faculty and staff were giving “horrific” accounts of the level of student’s fear. I gathered from the discussions it was becoming epidemic and a group must be formed to console these students.
Their “peeps” needed assurance and the object of their fear was President Trumpt’s deportation bans. Much of the student fear was exasperated by anti-Trump faculty and staff.

Many of the student body are anti-Trump and that is a part of freedom of speech however the staff and faculty are under restrictions of expressing biases.
They make anti-Trump statements on FB and when you make contrary statements they immediately block you. This is not a reflection of the University. It is a failure of the faculty and staff as individuals.
Many are strong feminist and the core of their beliefs is a desire to influence the denomination to allow women to become ordained bishops.
The under current of all this is a connection with the national anti-Trump movement.

Charles, time and again you show that you have very little actual, honest engagement–beyond social media–with those on the university campus. Your conversation with Jessica Thomas Shonebarger above shows this, your two comments here show this, and your consistent claims in this forum show this. Please take caution inferring from a small, online minority to a generalized accounting; this is the problem of hasty generalization (combined with a good dose of anecdotal fallacy, so far as I can tell). Please also avoid oversimplification when you represent various views (e.g., feminism or the views of various students/faculty); this sort of straw-man approach, consistently applied, only works to habituate detrimental intellectual character traits.
