W.L. Ford, here center with Black Ministries Bishop’s Council, was the last black national overseer of what was known as the “Church of God Colored Work” during the days of segregation. He served 1946-1950 and 1954-1958. You do? With light bulbs hanging from the ceiling and unfinished drywall? And old folding wood folding tent chairs? I don’t think that in 1958 the CoG officials that I knew met in such places. I wonder, “Was it because they were our black brothers?” Remember, Lee College did not really admit American black people, only foreign black people during the time I believe we attended there.
