Due to the recent political discussions and developments concerning the immigration laws of the United States of America, the Church of God (Cleveland, TN), through its elected leaders, offers the following statement:

Illegal immigration has always been a problem in the USA. The reason for such? Because our leaders have always made great promises of dealing with it, but never would. Trump is the only one who is literally honoring his promise. The Establishment thought Trump would do like all his predecessors. I take the same stand as that great evangelist of the early 1900s, Billy Sunday.
No I would not deny fellow Christians to come here, but let them come as legal immigrants.
We Americans sometimes are soft or slow in understanding why persecution is, because we have very little.
The Bible does say Love your neighbor as thyself.
The Bible does say to go into all the world and Preach the gospel.
It didn’t say go into all the world and preach the gospel and bring them back to Jerusalem or America. The converts were to stay in their own communities and win the lost there.
But does the Bible say run from persecution?
Did the apostles run from persecution?

Can the salt be useful in another plate. It must be in the food for which it is to be consumed?

Have you ever thought that this could be just another ploy of Satan to get Christians out of the countries, when they could be on the verge of a revival?
This action by the administration is not a Muslim, refugee or immigration ban but a stringent vetting process for the protection and security of the nation. There is absolutely no religious connotation to this at all. Unfortunately Christians and Muslims both will be affected by the vetting.
Even the Church of God leadership don’t get it but are swept along by fear of public reaction. The public reaction is the news media and “progressive” Christians.
This position of the COG GO is indication of the global move of the Church and a dissolution of national rules. They are doing this with Israel as well.
I hope they are serious in asking prayer about this matter.
Don’t just pray that people like me will change our minds on this.
It’s shameful that the CoG has adopted a political position on illegal immigration that awards amnesty to those here illegally.
The church is asking law enforcement be conducted in ways that recognize the importance of due process of law, yet has adopted a position that is anything but that.
Than it asks us to unite and pray on this matter. Sorry, not going to unite in prayer about breaking the law and rewarding those that do. Pathetic.
