Sunday night, 10/9/16 L. Livingston, pastor of the Central COG, preaching from Rev.22 said that a public employee must do what is sometimes against their own conscious in the fulfilling of their public duties. He mentioned the lady in Ky. who refused to a issue marriage license ; it was her duty to obey the law, he said and issue a license. A president must protect Muslims and Mexicans as well as the the rest of the citizens. He must sometimes order air strikes that take lives even though he understands the; ” thou shalt not kill law.”
I tend to agree with L.; how about you?

It sounds like the president protects a group of people who otherwise he would not protect. Perhaps this is a white American Freudian slip!!

I always felt the KY lady was wrong.

  3. I believe as long as it doesn’t go against Gods law. If it goes against Gods Law. The disciples ask. Should I obey your law rather than Gods laws. If it doesn’t go against Gods laws , then we should obey the law of the land. That’s what Gods Word brings out. I believe His Word.

  4. I have really never read anything in the Bible about issues like that. So I guess you need to obey the the law. I can’t remember what the disciples were doing. That they went against the law of law of the land. It seems like they cast a demon out of a woman that made money for the city by telling fortunes.

If you run a cake making business and a gay couple ask you to make them a wedding cake you make the cake. There are obscenity laws so you don’t have to do any obscene decor on the cake.

  6. I would council with them and tell them how they are going against Gods laws. And they would be taking a big chance of being turned over to a reprobate mind. Where they would believe a lie and be separated from God and would believe the lie the devil was telling them. And as long as that they believe that lie that it is ok with God to do this. And if they really believe God is for it. They have already been turned over. Now if they know the truth of Gods Word that and just trying to justify their wrong doings. Maybe they hadn’t been turned over yet. They still have time to pray and God will forgive. Once they believe it is really alright with God. And it’s not against Gods Word. Then it would really take praying for them ever to see the lie. I would let them know I love them and God does to. But God can’t tolerate sin. I would ask if I could pray with them. If they were determined to go ahead and go against Gods Laws. I’m sorry but I can’t go against Gods laws to make your cake. That would make me partakers of other men’s sins.

In this same sermon L. L. gave the dimensions of heaven ( Rev. 21:16 ) and said that it was 1,500 miles square. He didn’t say that it might be allegorical or visionary and thus it seemed to me that he left himself open to those who study the heavens with their powerful telescopes and listening devices that can pick up a pin drop a thousand miles away. He didn’t mention that several on the King James committee wanted to leave out Rev. or that John was very old when he wrote it and may have been senile. With each passing year more and more people are learning about space and will have a very different concept than did John the revelator.

  8. I couldn’t disagree more with that pastor. Louise Cummings has it right. You obey the law until or unless it contradicts God’s law but when it does, you go with God’s law. Gay marriage diametrically opposes the Biblical standard of one man and one woman. I must add that I’m astounded that some of the posts I’ve read talks much about sanctification (i.e. hair proper length, no make-up, jewelry,a appropriate clothes etc.) and yet stumbles over this. Can swallow camel and strain at gnats. If I were under this pastor, I’d find a new church. But hey, that’s me.

‘Kill’ meant murder back when the KJV translated the passage as ‘Thou shalt not kill’. Did Daniel sacrifice his beliefs when he was told to pray to no one but the king?

  10. Hmmmmmmmmm … I can see it now, THREE Hebrew young men, Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, TOTALLY bowing down to a false image …. what a GREAT Bible story THAT makes !!!

  11. So if it is the law that people can have abortions, if I am a worker in the medical field, I need to abort a baby?!?! REALLY…. not a chance!!!!! When man’s laws are in conflict with God’s laws, it is better to OBEY God rather than man! I cannot believe some of the posts that I have just read. I will quit my job before I do such a thing.

  12. I understand that sometimes things r required to be done that i feel r against my belief..example giving marriage license tosame sex couple…not my job to comdemn or judge..my job is to issue the license

  13. I agree..murder is murder
