Every COG pastor has probably pastored a people that have gone through what J.D. Vance calls; ” the hillbilly school of hard knocks.” That means your challenge as a pastor is harder and more frustrating than most. Going through the school of hard knocks means that they have been * yelled at, humiliated, cussed at and even had things thrown at them by their own parents. * lived in a home where the parents were divorced or at least fighting. * where there was substance abuse. * where one or more parents were depressed, had financial difficulties and were generally dysfunctional.
Now add to that the COD’s culture where we thought that we were supposed to yell at them some more, to humiliate them some more and generally to ” skin their hides ” little wonder that their emotions are raw and touchy and that those who mature, often leave.

I think the greatest reason for the young people leaving church is because the gospel the first century church experienced is not in any of our churches today . Part of the root cause is the real demonstration of the kingdom subsided with the demise of old line Pentecostals who according to eyewitness testimonies saw the reality of the kingdom of God in action. Now granted there are segments of the populace that take aim some look askance or perhaps really don’t comprehend what the kingdom of God reflects . When eyewitness testimony of old time moved of God with saints leaning against red hot stoves in full view of gazing sinners and had no ill effects and sinners rushing to the altar what actually happend was a real demonstration of the kingdom of God in action where the rules that we know should apply are negated and the kingdom of God shines as a real demonstration that boggles all human comprehension. I woul be very carful to castigate or bring a railing accusation against those honest and God fearing Christians who reported the truth as they saw it period . The young people saw with their own eyes the reality of a living God and that young generation stayed with the church . Now some would question what would happen if the kingdom of God appeared in today’s modern church well if we look at scripture Jesus said when you pray pray that thy kingdom come and thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven in nut shell that is the kingdom of God as described by Jesus Jesus preached the kingdom period the disciples preached the kingdom and in the book of Daniel victory finally comes with the saints on earth when they finally fully process the kingdom well I’m not giving all the bible refs. So do some studying and see what you come up with . Part of the failure of the our generation is that many pastors work full time jobs and pastor that is the worst possible environment for seeking a move of the kingdom . I just released a prophetic word that fully explained would mean the kingdom of God is coming with GREAT POWER I will be posting the supernatural sign that the lord gave me as I looked at the sign the lord spoke to and said I have given this sign to confirm the word you are preaching and to confirm the prophetic word you are releasing and to confirm the word of correction you are bringing to the body of Christ . The Lord confirmed the the word the disciples preached with supernatural signs and wonders check your bible . The Lord has shown me that when the kingdom comes many that never had arms , legs, eyes will supernaturally receive . This will cause some stir with the left biased media this why the kingdom should have been preached by the church because God can not confirm what you are not preaching period what is the vision statement of any of the Pentecostal movements of to day ????? Is it what Jesus told us to do ???? And this gospel of the kingdom must be preached in all the world for a witness to all nations and then shall the end come. I know for a fact many will dismiss what the lord has shown me and continue in the same m. o. this the reason I just spent 3 days fasting with no water or food because any prophetic word must aline completely with the holy word of God the question to be answered is will this move take place before the rapture or after the rapture I will share more of what the lord put on my heart in a few days please pray for us here in the Rochester my area we are praying for you all
