Are born again people automatically sanctified, holy? Or is there a separate work that makes the new born (in time) sanctified and holy?

How do we actually know when someone is born again. We have so many versions of Jesus that are being presented to people and so little fruit being manifested among new or even older believers.
It is a separate work.
Amen
Here is a thought,
Jesus was the only begotten Son of God.
He was “yet without sin”.
So for the sake of conversation,
Why did He Himself say of Himself
“John 17:19
And for their sakes I sanctify myself, that they also might be sanctified through the truth.”?
This was after Him existing eternally from time past, this was after His incarnate birth, even after His sinless life of total obedience, and just before He gave His life as a sacrifice for all humanity.
I am sure He being God in the flesh, the second Person of the God-Head that He was Holy and sanctified, set apart to God His Father.
So how then did He sanctify Himself at that stage of His life, just before His death?
Just for conversation.
