Any recommendation on a type of Christian Standard study bible? I found there are a ton to choose from? I don’t have a budget and don’t need all the digital studies cd’s or sermons.

Reformation Study Bible is my go-to. I love my Bible very much.
ESV Study Bible is great.
Holman Christian Study Bible is what my wife uses. She loves it.

You can dowload the if you have no budget. There are free apps online.

Spiro’s Zodhiates key word study Bible, purchase all the volumes if you can.

NIV study bible- always good to have others to hand for even greater depth of understanding. I have NKJV and NASB and others.

the Holman Christian Standard is a good choice. It would be great if it were available in a Ryrie edition but it isn’t. Among the translation I use are the NKJV, NASB, ESV, NIV (’84) NLT, KJV, and CJSB. The HCSB has been updated to the Christian Standard so you can pick up the HCSB at a very reasonable price: https://www.christianbook.com/hcsb-application-bible-2nd-edition-hardcover/9781414381206/pd/381206?event=EBRN. Best wishes on whatever one you choose. Just remember there are differences. You basically have 3 choices: formal equivalency which strives for a word-for-word text, dynamic equivalency (thought-for-thought) and optimal equivalency (combination of the other 2). Examples of formal include KJV, NKJV, ESV and NASB. The NIV is a dynamic but I would only recommend the ’84 edition and they’re not so easy to obtain, mostly from ebay. Optimal examples are the HCSB, CSB and NLT. The NLT is the least of these translations. It adds texts not found in any other translation so I use one realizing the aforementioned issue. I’ve included a link for your perusal. At $19.99 the HCSB isn’t a bad deal at all. I would recommend you steer clear of the 2011 NIV. The updated edition changed the wording of verses from the ’84 edition and in doing so changed the meaning of the original. I really love the Apologetics Study Bible in the HCSB translation. It has a ton of really great articles from apologists that answer hard questions as you go. Articles from Ravi Zacharias, Norman Geisler and so many others.

best study available on the market with probably be Jack hayfords “spirit life bible” the world’s best expository gives commentaries from josh McDowell, Don steward, dag heward mills etc
