Being Chosen Changes Everything
“The Lord has appeared of old to me, saying: “Yes, I have loved you with an everlasting love. Therefore, with lovingkindness I have drawn you.”
―Jeremiah 31:3
What is the need for choice and freedom once you have been chosen to be the beloved?
With all the clamor about choice and freedom I detect a desperation. Lonely people whose world has been reduced to a universe of one: me, myself, and I.
If they could only understand: The cry of their heart is really to be chosen.
The good news is, the cry of the heart of God is for them. From the moment our conception (from of old) his words over us have been: “I have loved you with an everlasting love. Therefore, with lovingkindness I have drawn you.”
Embracing that changes everything.
The ONE THING for today: Once you surrender to the call of your all-wise and loving Creator God, then, no matter what you face, you can say: “I was chosen for this” and know that He intends nothing but the best for you.
Now that is a choice that satisfies and gives true freedom.
