Born in 1934, former Church of God General Overseer Robert White celebrates his birthday on December 26. Writing in “Pentecostal Worship,” White emphasized the importance of remembering and passing on the blessings of God: “Throughout the Bible, the fact is firmly established that God does not want His people to forget the blessings He has bestowed on them. Again and again, He asked them to build memorials to remind them of His miracles of deliverance and providence and to give to Him the honor and praise. If God instituted feasts and special days of observance so that the people of Israel could remind each other of His blessings and praise Him for them, then the contemporary church should have a special time of sharing testimonies of God’s miracles and blessings so that they too can rejoice and give praise to God.”
