Can we answer emotional reasoning e.g. “I dont believe in god bcoz I hate him/his followers” using apologetics?

Human nature is corrupt. God is logically necessary

Your reason doesn’t matter to God. He still loves you and desires to save you.

A wise apologist addresses matters of the heart before the logic, if he can.

What do they hate and what do they think they know about Christ.
Ask questions, don’t give answers until you know what you’re addressing. -

Mind you, we do see emotional reasoning WRT evolution. “I don’t like it so it can’t be true”. Most grow out of this way of thinking by about the age of three.

The pattern is, Evangelism before Apologetics, you can’t defend what you haven’t established…
That person needs to be shown the Love of God by the same follower. Be the God he/she can see. That’s the logic .. -

Can we answer it, yes. Will it sink in? Depends on the person. If they are set on hating God, regardless of what is said, nothing will change their mind.

Is emotional reasoning an oxymoron?

I usually will say “I have found that if you explain why you hate God, I will hate that God for the same reason”. Then I listen carefully.
It’s either a suffering or a judgement responce and I speak to those directly.
Judgement is required because love exists.
Suffering is requirement for love to exist.
I tend to use the Socratic method to get them into this position and allow them to draw thier own conclusions from that point. -
No one has ever said I don’t believe in God because I hate him.
You can’t hate what doesn’t exist.
