Christ is perfectly pictured in the Old Testament.
On the Road to Emmaus:
Luke 24:27 And beginning with Moses and all the Prophets, he explained to them what was said in all the Scriptures concerning himself.
The scriptures Jesus used were Old Testament. The scriptures the Apostles and New Testament church used were Old Testament. The Old Testament is important and should be used in context to point towards Christ.
The New Testament is the blue print and fulfillment of the Old Testament and is the history of the newly born Church.
