Church of God General Overseer James Adam Cross was born in Crawfordville, FL, on this date in 1911. Cross and his wife, Nellie McClure, seen here in their wedding photo, married in September 1934 and attended the Church of God General Assembly in Chattanooga, TN, on their honeymoon. Cross served as general overseer from 1958 to 1962. Later, while president of Lee College (1966-1970), he led the college to acquire four-year accreditation for all of its programs.

Brother Cross was a true man of God. I was privileged to be at Lee U. during his presidency. His Vice President, who was also greatly involved in the accreditation process, was Dr. Don Aultman. I still hold deep respect in my heart for both these men.

I have been through Crawfordville, Fl. a few times It is a suburb of Tallahassee, Fl. now

I was at Lee with President Cross. He and Sister Cross visited our church we.pastored in Florida.
